Vehicle Detail
This car is being re-listed due to non payment from winning bidder, please only bid if you want this car. Thank You CLEAN TITLE. This car has a clean title issued by the state of Connecticut were it has been titled since 2002, Ebay made me list vehicle as salvage because of AutoCheck report. I'm not sure why this is, as stated below the car has had some previous body work done, but I'm not sure of the extent, besides some body flaws that I listed the car looks straight and solid. This auction is for my 1985 PORSCHE 911 TARGA all steel WIDEBODY. When I bought this car in 2004 I was told it was a 911 “Turbo-Look” a factory option, which had a turbo body and suspension but a non turbo motor. After further inspection I noticed the turbo suspension was removed (probably for a track car) and replaced with a regular suspension. The car ran and drove great but had some oil leaks so I (a mechanic for over 23 years) removed the motor and transmission. I pulled off all the cylinders and had a machine shop grind the valves, replace the valve guides, hone the cylinders and installed new piston rings. I reassembled the motor with all new gaskets and seals, new timing chains, oil lines and drain tubes. The motor was reinstalled with a new clutch , motor mounts and stainless steel exhaust. Catalytic converter replaced with test pipe. The suspension received new front and rear Bilstein sport shocks. Turbo tie rods, rear wheel bearings and all new rear suspension bushings. The front tires are Dunlop sport 5000 with about 5000 miles on them. The rear tires are brand new Dunlop sport 8000 tires (the 5000 were discontinued) I had the Fuchs wheels professionally restored and painted gloss black. As far as the body goes it has been repainted “not a perfect job” has some fish eyes under headlights and some runs under rear wing(not real noticeable with lid shut), there is a small dent on drivers door, some bubbling on the R/F fender, two repair spots on rear lid and some typical chips on the front, also the roll bar could use repainting, I tried to capture all of these issues in the pictures. I also noticed signs of car being hit in the right front prior to my owning car, It looks like it was repaired correctly. I replaced the front suspension pan because of corrosion from the battery. There are no other issues with the floor (pan). Targa top is in decent shape, no rips but could use some new seals on the sides, this never bothered me since I only drove the car on nice days only with the top off . The interior is in over all good condition with exception of drivers seat bottom. The carpets are showing their age(no rips) R/R floor mat is missing. The air conditioning system has been completely removed.. The heating system works with the exception of the climate control since there is no ac.
