Vehicle Detail

This is a very original survivor. This car is so rare that everyone’s immediate thought is it's not real, OK People! Use some common sense; you don’t fake all original, it is what it is. I have mentioned that it has the aluminum blocks and have had people immediately write back IT’S A FAKE, they did not have an aluminum block engine in that car. OMG if you don’t know what you’re talking about don’t bug me. The car is a factory console car, I left it out because I like the clean look. The console comes with the car along with all mounting hardware. There is a set of new old stock trim rings and door edge guards that come with it as well. I want to mention also that when I had the new exhaust put on the guy at the shop said he thought the muffler he took off was the original. The brake drums as mentioned below are original and in very nice shape showing a very small amount of wear! I have listed many of the parts on the car with their part number and casting dates, you will see this car is the real thing. This car came from North Carolina in 1979 and at that time it had a paint job. There is NO previous body work on this car. The guy who brought it up was a dealer and he said the car was faded and he had it painted. There are two small holes on the car, both in identical spots on the quarters. Note pictures. The car was sold around 1980 to a man whose name I have and then to another man a short time later I have his name also, Around 1986 the second man sold it to a friend of mine who drove it home and parked it in a building and there is sat till I bought it in 2010 This car is as solid as they come underneath, and by that I mean it’s not rusty, looks like about a 5-10 year old car underneath just usual road dirt. The car has 65,000 actual miles on it and drives very nice, its shifts and drives nice and tight. All the gauges work! The car still has the reverse lock out there and working, something usually long gone on these cars. When I bought the car I took the motor out and had a local shop go through it. They replaced rings, seals, bearings and gaskets. I ordered a set of correct valve springs and replaced them as well. I did not trust the old ones after some of them being compressed for all those years. We also replaced the timing chain and of course all clutch components including facing the fly wheel. This car is all original EXCEPT FOR THESE PARTS There is no jack or spare tire. The bell housing was replaced at one time with a Lakewood blow proof. All previous owners back to 1979 said it was there when they got the car. The exhaust manifolds are not correct; the car had headers when I got it. I replaced the headers with correct style manifolds but they are not drilled for air tubes. The water pump and fuel pump are not original to the car. The radio is aftermarket, BUT the dash is uncut and I have the original AM/ FM 8 track that came new in car. I have put new carpet in the car and had new covers professionally installed on the seats. The upholstering is correct, the car came with the standard interior and that’s what went back in it. Below is a list of parts on the car. If you note the engine number, all my research leads me to conclude it’s a warranty short block replaced by the dealer very early in the life of the car. trim tag ST70 12487 NOR238816BDY TR 711 75 75 PNT 04B Z28.19 The blue tag on driver’s door says the car was built 4/70 Part number build date Alternator 1100837 0c4 3-4-70 Starter 1108418 0b5 2-5-70 Intake 3972110 12.24.69 12-24-69 Carb 3972121 (4555) 021 2-1-70 Distributor 112019 9m14 12-14-69 Rear end C OZ 0318 E (march-18 Eaton Postreaction differential) Transmission POC13B N05522657 Block casting – 3970010 casting date- F240 Front pad CE120015 2657 (the 2657 is last four of VIN) Dealer installed warranty short block GM required Dealer to stamp partial VIN on Block Heads 3927186 C 11 0 - march 11 1970 Crank Pulley 3942538 Rear brake drums 3841177 W20 Water Pump Pulley 3956668 Water Pump (Not Correct) GM 6263701 E1824 may-18-72 This car is sold as is, I require $500.00 deposit with in 24 hours of end of auction and balance due with in 48 hours. On Sep-24-12 at 16:46:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Also would like to add that the tires on the car are the correct size for the car and are new with less than 200 miles on them. ALSO YES YES YES the gas pedal is mounted in the floor
