Vehicle Detail
1983 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency Brougham Up for bid is my '83 Olds 98, in good shape overall with 147k. Many parts were replaced to bring the car up to reliable daily service. Brakes overhauled all around with new lines, calipers, wheel cylinders, pads and shoes. New valve cover gaskets, belts, spark plugs and wires, various sensors and vacuum hoses on engine. New exhaust from head pipe back. New rear filler panel. Interior is very clean but has sun damage to tops of door panels and split seam on driver's seat by the center armrest. A/C was converted to 134a by previous owner but needs a recharge. Newer rear springs, sway bar end links, and tie rod ends. Battery is a year old. New headliner. I spent a great deal of time and money fixing this car up. A lot of detailing was done to it to ward off rust, such as painting the frame rails and reapplying seam sealer and undercoating where needed (rear wheelwells, lower qtr panels). I also applied new emblems and pinstriping to the exterior. The body has usual dings from age but nothing severe with usual rust nibbling at the bottoms of the doors. Paint is average with some checking on the hood but overall still glossy and intact. Sides of the car are quite nice. Driver's window glass has a few scratches in it. Floor pans are solid and frame is straight with no rot. Front bumper has some surface rust on one of the bumper guards. Front grille was a new NOS piece. Engine runs good, no blowby on startup, but could use a carb rebuild as it tends to stumble off the line at times. There is a minor exhaust leak from the crossover pipe "donut" on the left side. Transmission was replaced at some point with a TH-350 (originally had a 200-r4)and needs new kickdown cable. Shifts a little slow when very cold but works fine otherwise. Front tires are good, rears could use replacing. Equipped with: Cornering lights, map light, 6 way power seats, reclining passenger's seat, lighted vanity mirror, power windows, power brakes, power locks, power antenna (doesn't work), power trunk release, cruise (needs wire for lever hooked up), tilt, tempmatic climate control (works good), AM/FM Cassette ETR. Car is sold as-is. A deposit of $500 is due within 72 hours of auction end. If you cant make a deposit in this time period please do not bid. Thanks for looking.
