Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike back in 2009 and got it when it only had 6,500 miles on the odometer. It was professionally restored: all parts off bike; engine/transmission out of frame, torn down and rebuilt; complete inspection; parts either replaced with new parts or repainted or rechromed; bike reassembled and adjustments made to ensure it runs correctly (clutch, chain, etc.). Here's what was done to the bike. 1. Complete disassembly, with a thorough check of the frame for rust or damaged sections. There were none so he repainted it and used a new set of decals to be installed where required on the frame. 2. Tore down and completely rebuilt the engine and transmission and they were also repainted in the correct color. 3. Used new front and rear rims and laced them to the polished/painted hubs with stainless steel spokes. 4. New Dunlop 404A tires on bike 5. Installed new wiring harness on bike along with a halogen headlight, upgraded fusebox 6. NOS seat 7. Engine was polished wherever possible as were the front forks; used new allen-wrench style bolts on the outside of the engine 8. Painted new composite side covers in Freedom green (are almost indestructable) along with new side cover emblems and jewels (orange, which was the original color used on the bikes) 9. Tank was removed, creamed, repainted along with using new gas tank cap and lower side mouldings, 10. Rear fender, kick starter, and other chromed parts that I couldn't find new were rechromed. New chrome parts were the front fender, left and right fork ears, and mirrors. 11. Rebuilt and repainted master brake cylinder and front brake caliper 12. Used braided cable brake line for front brake 13. New left and right handlebar switches, new brake pads (front and rear), new tapered bearings for front wheel 14. All new and correct decals were used on the bike 15. Used two brand new front fork covers (and brand new inner fork tubes) and asked Randy to paint the insides so they would not rust out like the original ones used to do 16. Has a pointless ignition installed on the bike 17. New rubber boots on the carbs and between the carbs and the cylinder, including new clamps 18. Carburetors were completely disassembled and rebuilt with new jets, etc. 19. New coils were installed to match the pointless ignition system along with new spark plug wires and new spark plugs, of course 20. Turn signal lens are all new 21. New rubber parts were installed on the bike: side cover grommets, foot pegs, tank stay, etc. 22. New ignition switch 23. Has a new and complete set of the standard tools that came with the bike when it was new 24. New drive chain 25. Speedometer and tachometer were disassembled and restored: outside casings repainted and new facings on them along with new indicator dials (NOTE: There are a couple of small bubbles in the decal. I do have a NOS tachometer and speedometer I can sell you after the sale of the bike) 25. Is a bit cold natured at first, but once warmed up it drives like new. Brakes are broken in, changed the oil already, motor pulls like it was brand new. There are a couple of minor blems I want to point out. 1. There is an ever so small and almost imperceptible tiny ding in the gas tank top 2. Bike is a bit louder than the standard 1974 CB750 since I used the -300 series exhaust pipes on it rather than the stock -341s MORE: 1. Alabama does NOT issue titles to motorcycles built before 1975. Therefore, what I will have to do is give the winning bidder a bill of sale and sign the back of the registration and you that will take care of the paperwork for you to register/title it in your home state. 2. Please do NOT ask me what the reserve price is as I will not respond to those queries. 3. If you have 0 feedback contact me as I reserve the right to cancel your bid. 4. Please do NOT bid if you cannot afford the bike or cannot complete payment either for the deposit or balance due within the time I've alloted for the sale of this bike. 5. It is entirely up to the buyer to make arrangements to pick up the bike. You can either pick it up at my house or use one of the many transport companies listed. Or, if you live within a reasonable distance from me, I can deliver it to you for $0.50 per mile round trip. 6. There may be a few more miles on the bike than I've listed as I drive it every couple of days to keep the battery charged and keep things running smoothly on it. BIKE IS SOLD AS IS. I have been as descriptive and up front on everything I can think of that I honestly need to impart to you regarding the condition of the bike. Will work with buyer to be here when either the buyer comes to pick up the bike or to be here when the transporter company arrives to pick up the bike.On Sep-23-12 at 05:02:01 PDT, seller added the following information: So many people kept asking for my reserve price (I found that amusing as I wondered if those people also ask their fellow poker players what cards they're holding during a poker game) as well as why I hadn't listed a Buy-It-Now price, I've decided it is time to get things serious on the bidding on this motorcycle and get people off of the dime. I am not going to let this bike go cheap, plain and simple. I've invested too much in it to give it away for far less than I've put into it. So, now you know what I know it is worth (it has been appraised by a professional appraiser not too long ago) and what I'm asking for me to let it go. If you want a motorcycle that is almost brand new, then go for it. If not, there are plenty of other nice Honda CB750s out there that can be bought for less than this bike.On Sep-24-12 at 15:27:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Decided to drop the BIN price as well as the reserve price. The pricing is well within the range of similar quality vintage Honda CB750s sold recently on eBay. The last time I had the bike for sale the highest bidder was $7,501. That is not too far off from the reserve price, or you can use the Buy It Now option and get the bike ASAP.
