1959 Canadian Mercury Meteor Montcalm (equivalent of the US Ford Galaxie) This was recently appraised at $5000 I am the second owner of this Canadian rarity - the original owner from Manitoba bought it when he was 16 years old and drove it around his small town area and a few times to the big city for classic car shows. There are a few modifications that are not original (hubcaps, hood ornaments) I believe everything else is raw and original vintage. From my research, 1500 of these were manufactured, only 100 with the Continental Kit. When the 59ford.com website was up, only 6 owners came forward with this rare issue, all had been restored and only 2 with the continental kit. As you can see the inside is in wonderful condition except a small floor carpet chunk out, and crack in the dash...it certainly needs a paint job, and some straightening of the front bumper/side chrome. (all as shown) If you are into restoring, here is a chance to restore an absolute rarity and have something that will surely go up substantially in value. I purchased it in 1996 with the intentions of doing so, but haven't had time, money or know-how to make any progress. Vehicle also comes with a number of vintage '59 Ford advertisements from magazines, and many booklets as shown. I spent a few hundred dollars on the hard-to-find Canadian owners manuals, parts catalogue, paint chip reference, shop manuals, dealer brochures, and a mint owners booklet (purple). Buyer has to pick this up in Duluth, Minnesota and payment with cash only. Weekends do not work with my schedule unfortunately. Although it had a complete wiring and engine tune up a few years ago, it hasn't been running for the last 2 years...some minor work should get this going, back to its original running condition: which was quiet, smooth and a flawless runner.
