1959 FORD GALAXIE 500 FAIRLANE SUNLINER CONVERTIBLEHere is a very cool 1959 Galaxie 500 Fairlane Sunliner Convertible. I believe that it has its original 352 Cubic inch motor (but I am not positive). Has "3 on the tree" manuel 3 speed transmission which shifts fine. This was an estate "barn" purchase and the car just came out of a 30 year storage. After I spent a full weekend cleaning this car I put in a new battery, cleaned the fuel system, changed the oil and filter, replaced the plugs, wires, condenser, points and installed a new ignition coil. After that she fired right up! I have been driving it around the neighborhood the past few weeks. She seems to run fine and shift fine. She also stops fine but does pull to the right a bit. The horn, lights, blinkers and radio all work fine. The wipers and heater blower motor do not work. The top motor is not working but I have been using the top manualy with ease (I actually prefer this as it only takes seconds to put the top up or down). I also have an extra set of top pistons that will come with the car. The original interior is in very good shape including the door panels, dash and rear seats. The front seats do have a few seam splits. There is some newer carpet installed but I am not sure if it is original type. The paint is dull and thin. Frame and floors are solid. Trunk is also solid but has a small patch behind passenger wheel. All body panels are in good shape except the rocker panels both of which have some rust (see picture). Top is newer and in decent shape, but I did have to canvas patch a few mouse holes. Comes with a newer top boot also. Also comes with trunk liner and original jack and spare.
