The Mazda RX7 is well known as an excellent handling, high revving personal sports car. This is one of the first RX7's available in the U.S.. It was built in September 1978 and because of this it has distinctive 'first year' traits such as the small painted bumpers and small rear license plate area. The hood prop rod is oem on the right side. The Ebay listing required I state the model as a G, GS, or GSL, however this car simply says RX7 on the rear, although it is well equipped and I ASSUME it is a GS. It has 13" alloy wheels with decent white letter tires, factory sunroof with deflector and cover, working A/C that has been converted to R134 and basic stereo cassette. Condition: I will list everything I can think of about this car the best I can This car is very original with minimal damage and minimal paint work in it's history. The is extremely little rust on the body, in the seems and the floor. It is not a perfect showroom condition car but is a better than average car that could be perfectly restored with little effort or daily driven as is. As you can see in the detail photo there is a small dent in the lower corner of the right front fender. The metal of the dent is solid, it had some surface rust and has been cleaned and touched up. There is no rust through anywhere on the car and floors are excellent. (pics available) There was also surface rust* in the rear hatch lower seem and the sunroof inner seem which have been treated with a rust inhibitor and touched up with original white. The car presents itself very well. It runs great! It starts right up with no smoke and is quiet. Note that the exhaust appears to be all original and the exterior of the muffler is very rusty and should be replaced, but is quiet. The tires are older but decent and not worn unevenly. The drivers seat has 2 small holes in the bottom seat cushion. The ashtray has a custom cupholder installed on top of it but original ashtray is intact underneath. The small plastic trim around the inside door handles is very brittle and will need replacement but does not affect handle function. All the carpet is in great condition although there is some discoloring in the rear hatch area carpet. It has a full size spare tire on a matching alloy wheel. The sunroof deflector is slightly damaged but usable. All electrical and lights function as they should. ** I have just added 12 more pics of the underside. You can see how incredibly solid it is. Note that the undercoating is peeled away from under the floors in some areas but the metal under it is solid. The splash pan under the engine does have rust holes through it but I have a nice solid replacement and will install it before sale. This car also has a car cover.
