I am selling my 1986 Jeep CJ7 which I mostly restored in 2001. It had about 180,000 miles when I restored it and I have driven it about 1,030 miles since then ( I dont know the eact miles before the body tub was replaced). I removed the old steel body tub and replaced it with a Kevlar tub and it is painted Land Rover Yellow. The paint is in good shape, it does have a few small scratches but I have “touch-up” painted them. I have kept the jeep covered. When I replaced the tub I used all stainless steel bolts. The front is still metal and the windshield fame and grill were replaced with new metal ones. The fenders and hood are in okay condition the hood has a few rust spots but they are not visible until you lift the hood. There are few other rust spots on the jeep like the Tuffy center console has a small rust spot on the side and the back bumper has a small rust spot. The jeep has many extras but it still needs some work. As for the work the main things it needs are a motor and top. The motor is 4.2 liter 6 cylinder and it runs but there is a crack in the block. I drive it around town but I don’t drive it very far. I had a friend of mine that used to be a mechanic look at the motor and he said it needs to be replaced and thinks since it was a rebuilt motor there may have been a flaw in the block which caused it to crack. This is fun jeep to drive and it turns heads as you are going down the road. I am selling it because I don’t have the space to keep it anymore.
