This is an highly original early vin DeLorean. With its gas flap hood and dark wheels, this is a very rare configuration. It has a black leather interior that is in amazingly excellent condition. This DMC also has the desirable thick black vinyl side stripe. This is an original DeLorean dealer installed option. They are no longer being reproduced in their original material. The thin strip is also on the car. Early cars like this are very hard to find in their original configuration. This car has the original dark wheels. They are the first generation wheels of DeLorean production. All four are in excellent condition with no marks are scratches. The stainless is excellent with only minor blemishes. The side stripes are perfect; many of these cars with original stripes have scratches, chips, or peeling. These have none of those issues and are very impressive. Take a look at the pictures showing the front of the car. This DeLorean doesn't suffer from the "eye brows" commonly seen on these cars. The front fascia is completely straight. The front spoiler and rock screen are also in perfect condition. The paint on the fascia is correct with no fading. The same goes for the rear one. No cosmetic reconditioning is necessary to have a beautiful DeLorean you can show and be proud of. The doors open properly and stay up with no sagging. They have new struts on them. The rear louvers are also in excellent condition. They have been refinished but stay up as they should; no chips or imperfections on them. Going to the luggage compartment, the struts are new DMC struts and hold perfectly. The luggage compartment is in excellent condition and has the original carpet, spare tire, and hold down straps. Inside, this DeLorean is truely impressive. As a former owner, manager at DMC, and President of the DeLorean owners association, I have seen many good DeLorean's where there is extensive wear on the interior. This car has been properly stored and doesn't suffer from that. The seats are original leather. They do show wear but are overall in great shape. There are no rips, tears, or anything undesirable. Of course they do have the petina one would expect from seats with 48,000 miles on them. The A pillars, binnacle, dash, center console, glove box door, and door panels are all excellent. None of them need any attention. The rear cargo net and carpet are also in excellent condition. Mechanically this car is very sound. The engine is smooth and starts up one quick turn of the key. It idles smoothly with no "hunting" at start up. The clutch and shifting are also good. However, this car will need work and is priced accordingly. One window does not work, the working window is not operating as it should and will need attention. Additionally the air conditioning does not work. Upon inspection, we noticed the car has original hoses. The car does run and drive, it will need some attention for daily use. Where fully reconditioned DeLorean car sell for upwards of $40,000, this is a great way to purchase one of these iconic classics while they are still affordable. Rumors of the DeLorean movie have been circulating for years. Once announced, values will skyrocket. Now is the time to buy one ahead of the curve.
