This is a highly original 1974 Bentley T. These cars are extremely rare accounting for less than 10% of Silver Shadow series cars. This specific example, painted in Regency Bonze is believed to be its original paint. Although showing signs of fading and wear from age, there are no signs of a repaint. The interior is all original and is trimmed in Mustard Partex Savoy. Its shows little signs of wear. The seats, door panels, carpets, and headliner are all in amazingly excellent condition. The wood has typical wear for a 1974 Bentley that has not been redone. The Velour material IS original from Bentley. It was a no cost option and popular in Europe where this car was originally sold.SBX18430 is a very well documented motorcar. Included are all of the original books, tools, jack, lambswool rugs, foot rests, and keys. The owner’s manual is original filled out with the serial number, key number, color codes, and factory color names. The service book is stamped from the dealer that originally sold and serviced the car. In over 12 years of dealing with these cars, I have never seen a 1974 model year car with this type of original documentation. This German spec car, does have a MPH speedometer. In the service book is the documentation verifying the date and miles. This is a documented 60,000 mile car.We have spent a couple of hours examining this car and are amazed at how original it is. Most of the cars of this era have been redone, this one has not been. If you were to enter this car into a concourse in the preservation class, it would do extremely well if not win. It even has the original radio and cassette player.We purchased this car from an estate where the owner had passed away. It has sat in a garage for the past year. We do want to stress that service work need to be done for this car to be driven at any length. The work that is needed is a result of the car sitting. However, we did spend time in it. The engine runs beautifully smoothly. There is no exhaust smoke at all. All of the switches work. Including all of the windows, door locks, seat controls, fuel door release, lights, and radio antenna.In driving, the transmission shifts are so smooth they are almost undetectable. Should an owner want a car they can restore over time, this is a perfect example.These cars are extremely rare. A Bentley T is rare into itself.
