Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is very rare and hard to find 1963 MGB with pull handle doors and wire wheels. The paint is very shinny but does have some flaws ( not perfect but a very nice looking driver ). The chrome is shinny and the bumpers have no dents or dings. ( grill is very nice as well ). The wire wheels look almost new ( previous owner stated he had replaced them this year and they look it ). The tires are very good as well. The interior is in super shape as seen in the photos and the car has all correct "Smith" gauges. The car has been recently serviced and runs and drives out very nicely. I just took her out on a 80 mile trip on the highway and ran around 60 mph and she handled very well. During the trip the oil pressure stayed around 50 lbs and engine temp was right at 180 degrees the entire trip. I ran at about 60 mph but had a ton of peddle left and feel the car will go well into the 70's with no issues. The car shifts out very well with no noises. The reverse gear is strong and will back up an incline with popping out of gear. The car sits evenly and squarely on the ground and has none of the " Dreaded" MG left leaning issues. The front and rear running lights work, front and rear directional lights work, licence plate lights work, head lights work, wipers work and the brake lights do work but some times don't. I think the issue with the brake lights are a grounding issue and will try to get that corrected before the car goes out ( Sorry I make no promises but I'll try real hard to get it done). The clutch peddle is strong and so are the brakes. If I was keeping the car I would replace the steering wheel with a correct period one ( easily found on E-bay ) just to make the car that much more original. This is a 4 speed car with no over drive. The car does not have a top or top frame ( s/b the stow away type and can be found on E-bay or a new one can be ordered at VBC on the web ). Again not a show car but man she looks super and drives out great. The paint is signal red but some of the photos make it look orange. I don't want anyone to be disappointed with the car so please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. I would highly encourage all that are interested to come see and drive the car as I don't want the winning bidder to be disappointed when they get the car and say well I did not know about that or I thought it was a show car. To be clear again this is not a show car but one heck of a nice high end driver. I think I'm under stating the condition of the car but would do that rather than over state it. The auction is the sell the car not win and then decide so have your funds ready by auctions end. If you need to transport the car you can get a FREE low cot estimate on the web at Able Auto Transport ( I have used them in the past and they pick up and delivery very, very fast. I reserve the right to end auction if I get an offer over the starting price. If you don't want to wait till auctions end make me an offer over the starting price and maybe we can make a deal. However, I will only use E-bays prescribed methods to end the auction. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Ronex shipping for free quotes. Again, if you like the car and want it now make me an offer over the starting price and maybe we can make a deal. However, I will only use E-bays prescribed methods to end the auction so don't ask me to do other wise. Hello All, Wanted everyone to know two things that have come up. The first is the tach has stopped working and will need the cable replaced ( about $25 from VBC ). The second is the NC title that I have applied for will not be here till Friday 9/21/12 ( give or take a day ). I have the state issued registration in my name and the title number of the one that is coming from the NC state DMV. Again, the title is a NC title and is in my name
