This is a nice 1974 Mercedes Benz 450SL with both a soft and hard top. It runs and drive with no problems and is being sold with no reserve. The 4.5L eight cylinder purrs along without a miss or smoke and has plenty of power. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation or slippage. The brakes, steering and suspension are all good. No exhaust leaks. The exterior is gold and has at some point been repainted. There are no major dents or dings. It does have some small indentations on the hood and the typical shopping center door chips and scratches. No body rust. The windshield has no chips or cracks. All the lights and lenses are bright, clear and crack free. The hard top is in very good condition. The soft top has 2 spots by the back window that need a patch (see pics). The tires, on factory alloy wheels, have about 25% tread (see pic). The interior is clean. The vinyl MB Tex seats are in good condition, as are the carpets. The driver head rest has some tape. No sun cracks on the dash. The wood veneer trim is in good condition for the age. Can't get the AC to work. There is an aftermarket Pioneer radio/CD. It seems to work but no sound. The antenna goes up and down with the radio. The right side power window works but the driver window doesn't. Someone had the door panel off and broke the interior door grip (see pic). The heat works well. The clock keeps good time. The odometer does not work and says 109210 miles (see pic). This car runs and drives fine with no mechanical issues and no indication of any impending problems. The new owner will have no problems driving it home, no matter where they live. This classic pre-owned convertible is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer. We require, on ALL internet sales, a $200 internet fee which covers document, clerical, airport transportation and all other auction related expenses. This fee covers our fixed expenses and allows us to sell with no reserve. We offer, with proof of insurance, a 60 day temporary tag for $50. The 450SL is for sale locally, on our lot, for $5495. This is a no reserve auction which means that the high bidder, at auction end, must purchase the vehicle.
