Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a Deluxe 1930 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Coupe.I purchased this car 6 years ago with the intent to make a Hot Rod out of it. I have a flathead Ford 59AB engine professionally built, a 39 top load transmission, a 47 banjo rearend and a dropped front end axle ready to go into it prior to finding it. However after getting it home and driving it I could not bring myself to make a Hot Rod out of it because the chassis and running gear was in and still is in exceptional condition. It drove, ran and handled as it did new. The engine was rebuilt in the late 80's and so were the brakes. The people who owned it lived in Connecticut but had a summer home in Florida which is where they had the Model A. Summers would pass and they would occasionally drive it around the neighborhood until they decided to bring it to Connecticut to restore the rest of it. More time passed and they did nothing to it other than purchasing new tires for it and then they decided to sell it and I bought it. Every year I start it and drive it around trying to decide what I should do with it and then last month I found a 1931 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Roadster Body. So now I am selling the Coupe and am going to use the money to build the Roadster using all the goodies I have accumulated over the years. I have taken many pictures of the Coupe to show its condition. Please refer to them and ask me any questions you may have before bidding. The coupe has been painted flat black to protect the exposed steel. Most of the original paint has flaked off over the years and what is left flakes off easily so every year I need to paint where the paint flaked. Making this car an easy one to prep for body work and paint. The right front fender is in poor shape. It can be saved but finding one in better condition would be a better start. The doors are in exceptional condition with the body having rust on the lower extremities (see pictures). The front section of the floor and sub-rials are in great shape but the floor behind the front seat needs to be replaced. It would need to be rewired as there is only an ignition wire hooked up. The bumpers, grill shell and headlight buckets are in wonderful original shape. The wood in the body is fair and usable other than the piece above the windshield frame which would need to be replaced. It starts easily and idles with no smoke or blow-by but it is not accelerating smoothly without using the choke now. So I believe the carburetor picked something up. The distributor cap also has a piece missing out of it and the exhaust is starting to get loud. I do have the spare tire bracket, wheel (same as others) and black wall tire. Other than this the pictures show exactly what you are getting. If something is not there then I am sorry but I do not have it. New Hampshire does not issue titles to cars older than 15 years. So I will supply a valid New Hampshire Registration with a notorized bill of sale to you that you can use to title the car in your state. There is a local transporting company that has a limited route but may be cheaper than what you find. Email me and I will contact them for a quote.I have done my best to describe and represent this Coupe as honestly and accurately as I can. Please ask any and all questions before you bid.
