Up for auction and selling this week is a 1973 MGB roadster ( does not have overdrive ). This car is purported to be a numbers matching car. I have done my research online and believe it to be so but you would need to do your own research to ensure that is the case. The vin / commission number is GHN5UD309816G, engine number is 18V672Z-L-10661. If you run the trace through the Heritage-Motor-Centre.co.uk and it comes back like I think it will the value of the car will increase at least $2000. The car is showing 106,716 miles on the odometer but I can not verify these to be correct so the car is being sold as "mileage exempt". The exterior of the car looks good for a driver but I would plan on a paint job at some point.The top keeps the rain off you but I would plan on replacing it or repairing it ( has tear / seam has split around the drivers side rear quarter window ).The suspension is very good and the car sits evenly and squarely on the ground ( see photos ) and has none of the dreaded MG squatting or leaning. I just had the car tuned up and she is ready for the road . Has new points, plugs, wires, cap, button, oil changed, carburetors adjusted / balanced / synchronized/ timing set, clutch bled out, brakes bled out and rear brakes adjusted.The radiator was replaced within the last 6 months and the car does not over heat. The car starts right up with no smoke or engine noises.The clutch is strong and the brakes are good as well. The car shifts up and down through all the gears with no noises or scraping of the gears. The reverse gear is strong and will reverse up an incline without popping out of gear. The rear end is strong and makes no noises as well.The interior is of driver quality as seen in the photos. I have almost all the lights working and will continue to do so till auctions end but you might have to do some tinkering when you get the car as I make no promises that all get all of them working. The gas gauge is not working but will see what I can do to correct that ( again no promises ). The inner & outer rockers / sills look good. The floor pan / frame look good with some surface rust showing. Again, not a show car but a good 1973 driver quality car. I don't want any one to be disappointed with the car so please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. I would highly encourage all that are interested to come see and drive the car as I don't want the winning bidder to be disappointed when they get the car and say well I did not know about that or I thought it was a show car ( price reflects condition ). To be clear again this is not a show car just a good daily driver / driver quality car. The auction is the sell the car not win and then decide so have your funds ready by auctions end.
