Vehicle Detail
Up for auction and selling this week is a great 1965 MGB roadster and has the steel dash that is most desirable of all the MGB years. This car is purported to be a numbers matching car. I have done my research online and believe it to be so but you would need to do your own research to ensure that is the case. The vin / commission number is GHN3L69257, engine number is 18GB-U-H-58451. If you run the trace through the Heritage-Motor-Centre.co.uk and it comes back like I think it will the value of the car will increase at least $2500. A fully restored 1965 just sold for nearly $18,00 on E-bay last week. The exterior of the car looks good for a driver but I would plan on a paint job at some point. The car has 4 new matching radial tires and they really improve the handling of the car ( tires still have they little spikes on them ). The exterior lens are all correct Lucas brand and all gauges are correct Smith brand. The interior is in excellent condition with almost new carpet, seats, door panels and steering wheel. The top is in good condition and the car has a new interior color matching top cover ( $350).The suspension is very good and the car sits evenly and squarely on the ground ( see photos ) and has none of the dreaded MG squatting or leaning. I just had the car tuned up and she is ready for the road ( points, plugs, wires, cap, button, oil and coolant ).The carburetors where rebuilt not long ago and gas tank has been cleaned an treated and coated inside and the fuel line was replaced with a braided stainless steel type. The car starts right up with no smoke or engine noises. The engine is tight and I have never found a drip of any kind under the car and I would know as I have a painted garage floor. The car holds good oil pressure and does not over heat even in city traffic. Car does not have over drive. The car starts at the touch of the key with the use of a little choke. The car has new front and rear brakes, new front and rear brake hoses. The clutch ism strong and the brakes are solid. The car comes with the original jack , knock off wrench, a new in the box trunk carpet kit ( color matches the interior carpet $225 ), spare wire wheel ( needs a tire ) and a big box of spare parts. Again, not a show car but one really nice 1965 driver quality car. I don't want any one to be disappointed with the car so please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. I would highly encourage all that are interested to come see and drive the car as I don't want the winning bidder to be disappointed when they get the car. To be clear again this is not a show car just a good daily driver / driver quality car. I have a clear TN title in hand. The auction is the sell the car not win and then decide so have your funds ready by auctions end. If you need to transport the car you can get a FREE low cot estimate on the web at Able Auto Transport ( I have used them in the past and they pick up and delivery very, very fast. I reserve the right to end auction if I get an offer over the starting price. If you don't want to wait till auctions end make me an offer over the starting price and maybe we can make a deal. However, I will only use E-bays prescribed methods to end the auction. The auction is open to overseas bidders and you would need to pay in full via PayPal ( add 4% to the selling price as that is what PayPal will charge me to receive the funds ). If you need to ship overseas try Ronex shipping for free quotes. On Aug-27-12 at 14:16:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello All, I work out of town ( drive 97 miles to and them back again ) so getting back to emails takes awhile. I have answered many questions about the condition of the car and have posted them on the auction for all to see /review. I had several people over on Sunday while I was at work to look at and drive the car and a few things came up. It would seem as with all good British cars things have come up. The electrical system was fine when I left but now the head lights and running lights are not staying on. The wipers, fan motor, front directional's, rear directional's and brake lights are working. The head lights and running lights come on but then go off so it appears that there is has a grounding issue or the switch has gone bad ( about $25 or so to replace ). I was told the speedometer and tachometer where "bouncing" around ( was not the case when I listed the car ). I'm not sure the issue but to play it safe I have ordered via VBC cables ( s / b here Tuesday ) for both and will try to get them replaced before the car is picked up but if I don't I'll credit back the winning bidder $100 to have them professionally installed. I have recently sold a few of my prize possessions on E-bay and all have received very positive feedback ( please take to look - Mercedes 450 SL Roadster and my 1972 Triumph TR-6 ) and don't want the winner bidder to be disappointed when the car arrives and say " well I never knew about that or I thought it was a show car ". The car has had much spent on it and truly deserves to be finished and when done you will have one sweet ride with much equity when you decide to sell her. Please contact me if you need anymore information on the car as I truly want the winning bidder to be happy. Again I have great feedback when it comes to selling my personal cars so please ask any all questions prior to bidding.
