I am the original owner of this 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird and it has always resided in California. This car has never been in an accident and I have just about completely restored it to "like new" condition. At the time I had the car painted I liked the 1978 decal set better and had the decals installed but later I purchased the 1977 decals and an extra set of the Bandit stripe kit, which will go to the new owner along with a qt of matching paint. The paint used was 3 qts of the original color(Buchineer Red) and 1 qt of 2001 Viper Red PPG polyurethane and then cleared with Imron polyurethane and then color sanded and polished. Everything is original except the transmission, which was replaced and has about 10,000 miles on it, and the front flares which were replaced when the car was painted. The engine has about 80,000 since it was rebuilt and was blueprinted and balanced. Six months ago the fender wells were removed and professionally repainted and the Engine was stripped down to the long block and all seals were replaced and all the related parts repainted, along with the Camshaft, valve springs and valve seals, dual timing chain, front seal, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, valve covers gaskets, rear seal, and intake manifold gaskets.The A/C compressor, Accumulator and A/C hoses were replaced and recharged with the cool OEM R12 freon. The tires have about 50 miles on them and the entire front end has been replaced with new bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, and shocks. This car has been kept in my garage for the past 14 years and was only driven into town on occasion while it was being restored.
