Vehicle Detail
I am the SECOND OWNER of this AMAZING classic Honda! I purchased it a year and a half ago and it was my daily driver for more than a year. I love this car, and am regretfully selling it because I recently bought a brand new car and am just not giving it the attention it deserves. The car was originally purchased on the central coast (San Louis Obispo), and has remained in Southern California it's entire life. I have the ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER along with the owners manual and other literature. The interior is original and in fantastic shape with the exception of the seats (I have two seat covers that I used, and will include with the car). The dash is also in perfect shape and has no cracks in it. All of the original gauges are in working order. This car is in incredible shape for it's age. An optional RAGTOP was installed by the dealer at the time of purchase, and the cloth top was replaced last year. The tires were replaced about 7000 miles ago so there is a lot of life left in them. The motor was rebuilt by the original owner in 2001 (43000 miles ago), and I had an engine overhaul done as well as the carburetor rebuilt in the last 12 months. The original owner replaced the engine with a 1979 Accord Engine (1500cc - much more power than the original 2 cylinder it came with) as well as a 1984 Accord 5 speed transmission. I've driven this car to San Diego and back quite a few times, and it has no problem doing 80mph on the freeway. On the highway I average around 35mpg and I get 28mpg around town. I found a NAPA certified mechanic in Fontana who was a Honda mechanic in the 70's, and is very familiar with the vehicle. He loves working on it, and has put a lot of love into it. There is a CASSETTE PLAYER installed in the vehicle (I'll include some great cassettes with it), but I also have the original stock radio - which will be included. It's pretty fun to drive around town blasting an old school mix tape! The CA registration is up to date and good until July 2013. I had it smogged a few weeks ago, and it passed with flying colors. I have a letter from the original owner - with her contact info, and she is more than eager to share any further information on the car - as she too loved it dearly. SERVICE DONE:-Carburetor Rebuild (2011)-Head Gaskets Replaced (2011)-Coolant Flush (2011)-New Spark Plugs (2011)-Valve Seals (2011)-Seal 3rd Valve (2011)-Aux Valve Seals "O" Rings (2011)-Oil Changes (every three months since I've had it - most recent was a few weeks ago)-Oil Pan Gasket (2012)-Crankshaft Oil Seal (2012)-Turn Signal Switch Rebuild / Electrical Inspection (2011)-Pistons (2001)-Top Engine Gaskets (2001)-Timing Belt (2001)-Thermostat (2001)-Rod Bearings (2001)-Radiator Cap (2001)-Spark Plug Wires (2001) Needless to say this car has been inspected regularly and the kinks have been taken care of. When I took it in a few weeks ago my mechanic told me that the rear struts and right side axel are starting to leak and will need service in the next 6-12 months. The quote he gave me for this was $200. I have title in hand, original documentation, and all receipts of work performed. This car will make A GREAT EVERYDAY DRIVER or AN AWESOME SHOW CAR RESTORATION PROJECT. I'm listing the vehicle locally, so I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time. If you're in the Los Angeles area, feel free to contact me, and I'd be happy to show you the vehicle in person! I will ship anywhere in the US, but buyer is responsible for ALL shipping arrangements and fees. Thanks!!!
