Email me for a link to over 50 pictures of the car. 1979 Mercedes Benz 350se Euro (S-Class Sedan / W116) The Car Runs & Drives Great. It is Reliable & Always Fires up Instantly.Rare European Model / Grey Market Car / Imported New in 1979 / This Model Was Never Offered For Sale in the USA. The Engine is a 3.5liter V8 with 205HP(Mercedes Claimed 20.5mpg., This engine has more Power then the US Spec 450's).Three Speed Automatic Transmission. This is a One Owner Car – I have 25+yrs Worth of Service Records & RecieptsThe Body Was Extensively Restored in 2002 at a cost of nearly $20,000. I have all the receipts as well as some pictures of the car during the resto. The Restoration consisted of New Front Fenders, New Rear Quarter Panels and New Rocker Panels. The body was then completely stripped and repainted the original color (Silver Green Metallic ). In addition all of the wheels, exterior moldings, bumpers, grill, were replaced, Etc. The Restoration work was performed by a Mercedes-Benz Repair & Restoration Specialist. All Parts Used For The Restoration Are Mercedes OEM.The Drive train & Interior are Original.186,000 Total Miles on Car. Engine is Original & Runs Great. Very Recent Tune-up(plugs/wires/cap/rotor/oil change). The Timing Chain/Tensioners/Guides/Valve Cover Gaskets & Injectors were replaced about 30K miles ago(I have Receipts). The Steering Box was replaced 10K miles ago(receipts). Etc, Etc, Etc…The Transmission shifts great & The Car has plenty of power. The Headlights, Blinkers, Horn, Brake-Lights, Hazard Lights and Windshield Wipers are in Proper Working Order. The Heat Works Great. The AC does not blow cold but it has been converted to R134. I have not looked into the reason why it doesn’t blow cold; may just need recharged. The Car Does Not Leave Any Drips or Fluids on my Garage Floor. The Interior/Carpet/Upholstery is original and has held up exceptionally well with driver’s seat showing the most wear (see pics). WHAT THE CAR NEEDS: First off let me say that this is a great car and very reliable, you can drive it around just the way it is. It does need some things as most 30+yr old Classic Cars do.-It Needs a Rear Bumper, but It only needs the center section & reinforcement bar. I have both end-pieces in perfect condition. The factory euro-bumper is still available from Mercedes at a cost of $500.-Has some Rear Body Damage. The Rear-Most panel is damaged & small dent on trunk. The damage is primarily below the passenger side rear headlight –PICS TELL THE STORY. The Trunk opens and closes fine.-The Tires have dry rot & The AC does not blow cold (may just need recharged)-The car idles a bit fast; especially when cold. It also may need some exhaust work either now or in the somewhat near future. The exhaust is all there and intact but the piping is looking pretty rusty. When idling in Park or Neutral the car sounds louder than its supposed to be. For descriptive purposes I’d say that when idling in neutral the car sounds more like a mustang then a Mercedes. Once the car is in Drive or underway it runs quiet & smooth. The seal where the windshiled meets the roof sometimes leaks a bit. The car is garaged so it doesn't matter to me but if its left out during a rain storm then the drivers seat can get wet.-The Idler Arm Bushing Needs Replaced (I may have it taken care when I have time in the next few days).-Has an Aftermarket Radio that stopped working some time ago.-Passenger Side Rear Quarter Panel has two cracks in the paint—SEE PICS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I drive this car around all the time! It’s a great car and a real head turner.I don’t think this car would have any problems making a lengthy road-trip. That being said, I should also say that it is 30+yrs old and it does have 180K+miles so I give absolutely no guarantee whatsoever!! When I use this car I primarily put 50-100miles on her in a day with no problems at all(once every week or two). The Car Does Not Leave Any Drips or Fluids on my Garage FloorI'd call it an excellent driving project with a clear end in sight. That’s it…I can’t think of anything else. ANY QUESTIONS? CALL OR EMAIL ME ANYTIME 516-761-9275 I am Mercedes Enthusiast and I will be glad to discuss the car with you. Thanks -DaveTHE CAR IS 99% RUST-FREE & MAY BE WORTH MORE IN PARTS THEN WHOLE. IT WILL BE A SHAME IF THIS CAR GETS PARTED OUT BUT ITS UP TO THE NEXT OWNER TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH IT. THIS CAR NEEDS LITTLE TO BE PERFECT AND ID PREFER TO SEE SOMEONE REGISTER AND USE IT. THIS CAR IS ONE OF A KIND & I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER 350SE IN THE USA.***This is a 30+yr old car. Its Sold AS-IS with No Warranty expressed or Implied. You are encouarged to come see the car in person. You are also welcome to have a mechanic inspect the car BEFORE the auction is over. I will do what I can to help/assist in any way possible. Feel free to call me anytime:(516)761-9275Email me for a link to over 50 pictures of the car. alpinemotorsdave@hotmail.com(516)761-9275
