I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the very powerful V10 engine and an automatic transmission. This truck would make an excellent hunting/fishing, off road or farm/work truck. This truck has been extremely reliable, the engine runs perfectly, no smoke and starts fine everytime. The transmission will need to be serviced for every day use, it has trouble shifting from 1st. to 2nd. It shifts fine at real slow speeds but at higher speeds it has to rev up, then let off the gas and then it will shift. Once in second it shifts fine the rest of the way thru. Power windows, power door locks, cruise control and 4x4 work properly, drivers side window sometimes jumps off track but seems to correct itself. A/C does not work. Power drivers side seat has an intermittent short and will blow the fuse. Interior is fair, (dirty). I have put many new parts in the front end, power steering gear box, steering stabilizer and track bar bushings. It drives much better than when I bought it but it may still need to be aligned. The exhaust was shot when I got it, the catalytic converters and original muffler are gone and just has a turbo muffler without a tailpipe that has a good sound but is pretty loud. The body has the typical Dodge rust, lots of bumps and bruises especially in the bed. Like I said at beginning, great fishing/hunting or work truck. It could be turned into a nice truck with some work if you really wanted to, might not be as bad as I am making it out to be but I want to be honest on its condition.
