Vehicle Detail
This is a special car that i acquired from a significant private collector who also founded / owned a highly regarded company that built engine racing components and was an avid race driver of planes, boats and planes..... I fell in love with this car, took a lot of effort to acquire and still have been uncertain about selling. At the time I acquired this car I was told that it was originally gifted to a member of the Schnitzer team and was shown at the BEAULIEU National Motor Museum. The sticker adhorns the rear window. http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/ I have ALL custom and import records on this car w/ excellent documentation and xerox pictures. Inside of the car has all required labels as this car has been registered in CA since 1984. It was brought into this country on May 18, 1984 and was owned by that same individual for 27 years. The documents all list this car as a 1978, however the registration with the DMV in CA has 1979. 1978 was the first year of the European 635CSI. All gauges / labels in the car are in "german", odometer is in kilometers w/ original (approx) 70,000 miles !!!! Very low mileage example of this unique car. Also included are a variety of ORIGINAL books and pamphlets to make this a true piece of history. Manuals in German. Sold Aug 16, 1978. Book stamped : delivery stamp, inspection stamp, service stamps in Germany thru 37,500 km. dealer stamps, oil service stamps., metal tag, etc. This car sits on gorgeous rare ALPINA rims w/ centers to match, very rare and expensive original glass that is bronze tinted on the inside, rear schnitzer spoiler.. The custom paint job from Europe is what turns heads further w/ the infamous BMW motorsport colors exquisitely painted from the passenger side rear spoiler, accross a portion of the rear qtr panel and trunk, accross a portion of the roof continued down over a portion of the front hood, drivers side door and front qtr panel and frt spoiler.. beautiful wide colors on silver look gorgeous and stand out. (not just a litte on the frt spoiler but in portions of the entire car) Gorgeous aerodynamic look that is pleasing to this day... wipers on all front headlamps and that awe inspiring front spoiler. On the inside are those ergonomic original recarro sport seats in black leather wrapped all around. Dash in perfect condition as with all my cars w/ no cracks or issues. Rear seats and storage excellent. A/C on/off cold so needs most likely summer recharge. Car drives literally like a dream, dog leg first gear for rapid shifting, car is nimble, exceedingly tight and fast.... very fun to drive and sounds awesome w/ a nice purr and rumble. Presently not equiped to smog in CA. Refreshening since 2006 to the tune of $12,000. Some of the servicing was for as follows: New 205 and 225 Michellin Pilot Sports a/s, New exhaust system, replace fuel sender assembly, replace idle air valve, replace carpet incl rear deck console and kick panels, show ready detail, a/c service/add freon, replace window and a/c switches, windshield washer tank, jets, valve, strainer, seals, drain and refill differential, full brake service incl new calipers and hoses as needed, incl new brake master cylinder and slave cylinder, transmission service, new thermostat, coolant reservoir, new fan clutch and v belts, new hood shocks, adjust valves, flush all new fluids and filters, etc. This is a great car, fun , special and yes, unique. Historical in a sense and I wish for this car to go to someone who has a passion for this marque and model, to continue to show the car as well as drive and fully enjoy. I have various cars from my collection that I am selling this week... Enjoy bidding on this special car as it is one of my favorites. A lot of pictures will be posted on Sunday. I may also be listing a 1999 Mercedes triple black C43 AMG fully stock aside from black painted amg rims w/ painted yellow ring and KN dual oil filters, records since new, CA car that handles like on rails and performs nearly like a ferrari (300hp/300 torque) AND a 1967 Harley Davidson Aeromacchi motorcyle 65cc that is complete and rides great. Meticulously maintained.
