1964 VW Bug - for parts only This bug was in my barn when it burned down the summer of 2009. The fire department is just around the corner and the fire was put out before it got really hot, but the barn and it's contents were destroyed. I have kept the car under a car cover until 2 weeks ago when a bad thunderstorm shredded it. The only rust through is in the pans. All other runs is just surface rust. There is a large dent in the roof and another in the engine lid. These are shown in the pictures. The only glass left is in the passenger door. The seats were removed since I was going to re-do the interior. They were totally crushed - so they are not included. The tires will hold air long enough to get it loaded on a trailer. I can not tell the mileage due to the fire but I turned it over once and assume that was the second time due to the condition when I purchased the car. Best guess would be that is has 200 to 250K miles. The engine was running before the fire. I would start it up every couple of months and let it idle. It has been garage kept since 1982 until the fire. I was going to re-do the interior but never got around to it. The front hood looks like a cheap replacement part and not original. The fenders also do not look original. I had replaced the heat channels and the panels above both side jack points in 1979. The car is located just east of Rochester NY. This auction includes the bug along with the title. *** Added 08/16 *** Vin on title matches tag in front and number stamped on pan. The engine has 1432 on the generator post. In looking for numbers I discovered some rust through on the driver side wheel well in the trunk. The passenger side looks good. I added two pictures of the inside of the wheel well. Under the spare tire there is no rust through. I have not looked under the car to see if there is any other rusted area's. Both pans are rusted through. What you see in the pictures is just surface rust.
