Up for sale is my 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe which has been restored from the ground up. Evey nut and bolt was removed. Has all original body panels with the exception of the rear valance, which is a GT syle valance. Since the rear valance on these cars never fit very good from the factory, it was welded in place and smoothed into the body for a super clean look. The orignal 289 V8 motor has been rebuilt by the top engine builder in town. The 3 speed manual transmission was also rebuilt. A new clutch and throwout bearing was installed. Both the engine and transmission have less than 800 miles on them since the rebuild. The orignal pony interior was replaced with new blue and white pony interior. To make the car safer and more confortable after market head rests were added to the orignal seats which provide a classic look with a modern feel. Three point seats belts were also added up front. To keep a classic look the orignal am radio is in place in the dash with a modern CD player with remote in the glove box. All the guages are opperational and are backlit with L.E.D.s New weatherstripping was then added to keep the elements out. To clean up the trunk, custom pannels were built and upholsterd for a clean look. The 40+ year old wiring was ditched and replaced with a Painless Performance wiring harness along with the old points distributor with a Duraspark 2 Electronic ignition. The old paint was sanded off, primed and Ford Perl-coat Blue was applied. The dull and crusty bumpers and emblems were replaced with new chrome to bring back the shine. To stiffen the car up sub frame connectors and a Mote Carlo Bar were added. All new suspension components where added, leaf springs, coils, shocks, A-arms, Tie Rods and bushings. For a classic look with a modern feel Wheels from a 2006 mustang and new tires were installed. To get the right muscle car sound and performance, headers and a GT exhaust with Flowmasters was installed. The nasty old gas tank and fuel lines were junked and replaced. Finally to make sure we could come to a stop a disk brake conversion was done with front with all new brake lines and hoses. I hate to sell this car but its time to move on to the next project, a 69 IH Scout 800A.
