Vehicle Detail
My 1973 Austin Mini is far from original. You can drive it at 70 mph, or burn rubber in 2 gears. Everyone loves it, it won Prisident's Choice for most "fun" car at Britfest this year. Engine: 1328 CC, 115hp motor built by Brian MacEachran. Balanced Crank, Balanced Rods, Custom Pistons, Swifttune SW-5 Cam, Stage 5 heads, 1.5 roller rockers, Lightened and balanced Flywheel and clutch , New 1.75 Carb. Headers, Hot ignition and more. Trans: Rebuilt with new gears and bearings, New Synchros. Extras: Oversized Disc brakes up front. Height adjustable suspension front and rear. SS brake lines, Frame and rails are perfect. New Yokohama 10" tires, and tubes (tubes were hard to find). Pretty paint, 95% perfect (there are a few sanding marks), Seats are great, 4 point racing seat belts. My neighbor used to race these things in Jamaica and is 5'5" and fits in it. I am 6' 2" and I fit in it. I am about max. if you are 6'4" or more, you will have to build new seat rails. The bad: this car is for fun and not everyday. It doesn't have heat or A/C. No radio, the car is loud and you wouldn't enjoy a radio in it. Otherwise everything works great. I have the original heater core, and it works with no leaks, but I didn't want it in the car. I bought this car a year ago, about 75% done. I finished it and have had a blast. Unfortunately for me, when a car is finished, I am done with it. I take it to a show here or there, and drive it once every 3 weeks or so. I took this car to work and to a golf outing last week (golf clubs do not fit in the trunk!). I put 100 miles on it that day, it has been parked since. Time for a new toy project, so sell time. The car is in Northwest NJ, I would feel safe driving it a 100 miles, after that your back would be sore. It is a bit scary on the highway, only because it is so small. I have run it a 100 miles at 70 mph. It would take you $10K for the motor, $2K for the trans, a grand for the interior, $2K to paint, wheels tires, exhaust, suspension upgrades, assembly, and the car.... There is $20K in this car. Talk to me about payment and transport options. Buyer pays to transport anywhere buy locally. I will help where I can. John 201-602-7717 When the car was painted (prior to me) the upper and lower seams for the front fenders were filled and removed for a cleaner cosmetic look. I would consider trades... an old truck, or something different. I have a basic car, so I have no interest in that. Maybe the right motorcycle too.
