Vehicle Detail
For sale is a fully loaded Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer. It is a used car, so it does have a few minor dings, scratches and scrapes here and there, but looks very nice for the age. I tried to show the obvious things in the pictures. It has heated leather seats. I bought it in November 2010 with 119,000 miles. It now has 150,720 and still starts up and runs good.It had both front wheel bearings replaced about 15,000 miles ago. Battery is only about 6 months old. Tires are still decent and should last the rest of the season, that is a quarter in the tire tread picture. Air, heated seats, power mirrors, power windows, all work great. Stock AM/FM/CD player The car does have 1 mechanical issue that I know of that needs taken care of fairly soon. It needs the front CV axle repaired where the inner and outer CV JOIN TOGETHER. The symptom he showed me on the rack was the cv axle was able to be pulled straight out towards the wheel and had some oil seepage. I had it looked at, but not repaired. The whining and binding noise started happening while out of town, the shop could not get the part in time for me to leave so they put in a simple $3 toggle switch (on/off) and ELECTRONCALLY DISCONECTED the auto 4wd with switch so I could drive it home. If not, it would have tried to go in and out of 4x4 constantly since this is the auto 4x4 model. Once the axle is repaired, they said you can remove the switch, reconnect the 2 wires or just leave it ON and the Auto 4x4 will go back to normal, or you can leave it in place and have 2wd, 4wd high/low on demand. I know the switch works, because if you turn it on, it switches into 4x4 and starts to whine again. I know this sounds strange, so here is a link to what they did: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194875 THE CAR CAN BE DRIVEN the way it is, I would say you could drive it an hour or two with no problem, but this isn't a guarantee. I take it into town every couple of days with no problems. It also needs 1 sway bar end link, they noticed it's loose, on the same side (passenger). ($30) Rear wiper motor is worn out and only works sometimes. Deposit is due at close of sale, car must be picked up here in Navarre. Truck IS for sale locally, so ask any questions you may have, you are welcome to come and see it! As stated, it goes into and out of 4wd just fine using the dash buttons. The auto 4wd tries to come on due to the front axle issue so the auto has been disconnected as stated above. You could buy an entire front axle and just swap it out or get the couple pieces and replace them to fix the issue. On Jul-31-12 at 16:43:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, it DOES have the steering wheel controls for the heating cooling fan, stereo controls and cruise, right at your fingertips.
