Vehicle Detail
First off a little about the history of this car. This car was bought new on 08/04/73 by the neigbor about 1 mile up the road from me. It has sat in there garage and not been outside or ran since 1989. The previous owner pasted away back in the winter. And his children sold me the car a couple of weeks ago. They told me the mileage was actual. Odometer reads 52,092 and the car looks like it has 52,000 miles on it too. But has been sitting in there garage since 1989. 89 was the last year it was plated. I have the actual clear title signed, and open, no date, no price. And you can see where they bought it in 1973 too. So you will be the second titled owner if you want to get plates on it. I brought the car home, put new spark plugs, wires, distributor car, points, condensor, air filter, oil and oil filter, a good used battery, and like new front tires on it (because one of the fronts was leaking in the dry cracks. The car fired up and ran pretty good, for having a bunch of nasty smelling fuel in it. I washed the outside, cleaned and armour alled the interior, drove it around the yard a few times, did a one wheel peel burnout on the road with the old cracked out rear tires (which it did great at). I then loaded it up on the rollback, went into town put $38.00 in gas in it. Brought it home and it started running bad. It has sucked up some dirt or rust, and it was starving for fuel. I took the air hose and flew down the fuel line towards the pump and it is running pretty decent now. I am sure there is rust or dirt in there somewhere It has the factory 4 barrel carb on it. Trans shifted out ok, ( I only drove it about a 1/2 mile) engine ran strong. Top end sounded a little dry when revving up the car. You have to think this car has been sitting since 1989. Brakes are working good. I don't see any leaks at all from the car. Things I know the car needs, it probably needs the carb cleaned (maybe rebuilt), and new fuel filter. Some of the rubber lines for the vacuum and fuel look cracked out. It needs back tires. The electric window for the drivers side is real slow going back up, and you have to help it. The alternator is not charging. I am including a like new one that I saved from a 351m that looks like it should work and mount up. The vinyl top is peeling. The blower motor for the heater is not kicking on. And I did not get to try out the A/C since the blower was not kicking on. The gas gauge is not reading right. The car body does not have any holes, and is not dented up. Paint is peeling along the bottom. There is some rust bubbles along the bottom here and there on the car. The frame and underneath looks good with no rust in the frame or floor boards. The car is all original, and has not been wacked up, or messed with. I have the original owners manual too. The interior looks good, and so does the seats. The carpet looks pretty clean and not wore down. Original blue shag carpet. I think the interior looks pretty good. Dash pad is not cracked up or faded. This car has always been garaged since new. And it has not been sitting outside or out in the weeds. This car is not perfect, but would make a really good project car. It needs some work, but it is a real good start. You are more then welcome to come and inspect the car. I want a small deposit within 48hrs of the end of the auction for the amount of $200. thru pay pal. And I want the rest in either cash, money order or your personal check within 7 days of the end of the auction. I will not release the car until all funds have cleared my account, no if's and or buts about that. I prefer cash. The car can stay here for 30 days after the end of the auction free. After that it is $10 a day storage. Check out the pictures real good. If you have any questions feel free to ask thru ebay or call 1-765-546-2642 This car is sold as is! All sales are final. It will have to be towed or hauled out of here, because I would not trust any vehicle to drive home any distance at all that has sat for more then 20 years. Also the air intake tube that runs between the fender and air cleaner is in the trunk with the battery plastic side cover, and a extra hub cap. Thanks
