Vehicle Detail
HERE S YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A TRUE SLEEPER. Ranchero Q Code History:In 1972 Ford changed to a full frame Ranchero wich was sold through the Truck Devision as a 1/2ton Truck. At the end of 1972 Ford had to change the front end design , therefore this was the only year with the famous Fish mouth Front. The Movie Grand Torino with Clint Eastwood made this Year even more famous. The Q-code was very rare and pointed to a 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet Engine My Truck:It was manufactured in January of 1973 and is titled as a 1973 Ranchero. VIN Number shows it to be a 500 Model, build in Atlanta, Georgia. Refers to Q Code Engine. Wherever I show up with the Vehicle, it draws a lot of attention. People usually are not familiar with the Ranchero and I even had a fellow asking me : “Why do you have Ford Decals all over the El Camino..” , People telling me a lot: Nice El Camino and i have to end up educating them . For those, who know the Ranchero line, they are well aware of how rare this model is.I have used the Truck to go on Car Shows as well as a Truck to transport materials. It sure can Haul a Load ( rated at 1200lbs). Condition:Interior:Almost new custom upholstery with blue over black cloth Bucket seats and a center Console. The carpet is almost new as well.Original Spare Tire Holder and cover behind the SeatsFord Floor MatsDashboard CoverGood HeadlinerOriginal Factory Air Conditioner (needs to be charged) Stereo: This system is professional installed and was over $1000.- by itself. Two Alpine 4” 75 Watt Speakers in the center of the dash on modified Factory Speaker mountAlpine 6 1/2” 180W Door Speakers with black / Blue GrillsAlpine CDA 105 Stereo system with I-Pod / Iphone / USB Connection in center Console and a additional Alpine Remote ControlAlpine 12” Subwoofer in custom upholstered EnclosureAlpine MR 500 Amplifier Engine:351 ClevelandAustralian Cylinder Heads, bowl portedBlock bored 030 over with Flat top pistonsEdelbrock Performer IntakeErson Aluminum Racing Roller RockersMild performance CamshaftMoroso tall Valve covers (old School)Holley 600 Carburator, Vacuum SecondaryHEI Distributor with high performance 10mm silicone spark plug wiresSingle Wire AlternatorNew Engine Harness with commercial watertight Deutsch ConnectorsHeadman Headers H-Pipe Exhaust system with custom exhaust tips. all welded designFactory Air Conditioner which needs to be rechargedChrome dress kitMost engine work was done by previous owner and therefore I can not verify the Internals except the Rockers. All external is as described. If you plan on driving it a longer distance, i would recommend a front wheel alignment and have the Tires Balanced.I have been driving it locally with no problems. it always starts right up and never let me down. Now here the bad about the Truck : The Paint on the hood scoop is bubbled. there are some dings and paint chips on the Hood. I would recommend to repaint it at some point. There are some small spots of rust starting to show up just behind the doors in the part of the rear quarters. One small rust hole on the driver side a-frame just below the door hinge. Also both floor pans will need a complete replacement. I usually keep the car covered and well cleaned. it is a blast to drive and you draw attention wherever you go. The proceeds of the sale will go towards a handicap van for my wife and to cover Medical cost.I would prefer cash on Pick up - checks would have to clear , before i release the vehicle. I might be willing to assist in shipping. Details can be discussed.Due to the Age , the Vehicle is sold "As is -Where is". I have tried to describe the Truck as best as possible. A non refundable Deposit of $500.- will be required within 24hrs of auction end on my Paypal account. Happy Bidding On Jul-15-12 at 06:42:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Regarding Payment: if you decide to pick up the vehicle locally shortly after auction end and not have it shipped, you can skip the Paypal, so i do not have to pay extra fees.If you want to send a check, it has to clear before i release the vehicle or title. ThanksOn Jul-15-12 at 08:10:13 PDT, seller added the following information: On Jul-15-12 at 14:25:16 PDT, seller added the following information: please be aware, as stated above, the Ranchero is a 1973 500. i am not sure, if one of the prev owner changed the front clip to a 72 gt or since the vehicle was build in january of 1973, it was delivered with a 72 front.
