This is a 1995 Toytota Avalon seized by the Milford (DE) Police Department subsequent to a criminal investigation. The vehicle was awarded to the City of Milford by the Delaware Superior Court and the City of Milford holds a clear title to the vehicle. The vehicle is does not start without a jump-box. It has been stored for a minimum of 6 months pending Court proceedings. More than likely it needs a battery, but that is an educated guess and not a mechanical diagnosis. Once started, the vehicle runs, drives, and shifts. All tires are inflated and appear to have serviceable tread. The paint is in decent condition but in need of detailing. There are dings, scratches and small dents in various places around the vehicle. There is no major damage and no disabling damage. Engine compartment is dirty, interior is dirty, has dash parts missing, and wires (owner installed??) in plain view. The factory stereo has been replaced with an aftermarket system. It is unknown if it works however there is speaker and sound equipment in the trunk. Seats are leather but are in poor condition and in need of either covers or upholstering. Carpets are dirty and there is clothing and trash in vehicle. Some elbow grease and automotive wax would do wonders for the vehicle and greatly improve its appearance. The vehicle was being driven at the time it was stopped and seized but the City of Milford makes no guarantee as to the mechanical condition of the vehicle. It is being sold AS-IS. This vehicle is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed nor implied. The vehicle is available for inspection, by appointment only, at 400 NE Front Street, Milford DE Mon-Fri, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. The City of Milford does not profit from the sale of this vehicle. Proceeds are forwarded to the State of Delaware Aid for Local Law Enforcement Fund. For this reason, NO REPAIRS or alterations will be made prior to auction end. Winning bidder must pay for and remove vehicle within 10 days of auction close. Buyer must bring ALL equipment necessary to remove the vehicle. The City of Milford does not provide assistance with towing, loading, or moving the vehicle except what is necessary for buyer to take possession. The City does not loan tools, rope, chain, or "jump starts". The City does not finance, does not accept Pay Pal, and will NOT end the auction early to sell the vehicle privately. Buyer MUST contact seller via Ebay Messaging within 3 days of auction close. They will need to provide name, address, Drivers License Number and State of person to whom title is being transferred. Buyer responsible for insurance and registration necessary to remove vehicle.
