Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a super great running 1978 MGB with much work done and very little needed to finish. I recently purchased the car as a wedding gift for my goddaughter but after talking with her parents and a few glasses of wine we decided to just give her cash for her new home fund. The previous owner was restoring the car and did a ton of work over the past 10 months. The car runs out great! I just took it out on a 20 mile run at current highway speeds of 60-65 mph and she performed / handled excellently. The car shifts up / down thru all gears with no binding, scaping and reverses up an incline without popping out of gear. The previous owner did the following: New Dunlop tires on all four corners, new master cylinder, new front brake hoses, rebuilt brake servo, new Payen head gasket, head machined, valves lapped and cleaned, new valve guides ( very quiet with no noises or rattles ), new steering rack boots, new water pump, new thermo stat, new SU fuel pump, new fuel tank, new fuel sending unit, new back up lights, new chrome side molding kit any many other smaller items. The car was tuned up 6/12/12 with plugs, points, oil change and oil filter. The car holds good oil pressure and has an even 120 psi on each cylinder. The car drips no fluids that I can see and I have a painted garage floor so I would know. The car starts at the touch of the key and I would have no issues diving it on a long distances trip. The car has a current NC emissions and safety inspeaction. The car is showing 65,170 miles and I'm told that is correct but have know way to verify so the car is being sold as mileage exempt. The interior is what I would call near perfect with no rips, tears, no cracks in the dash and the carpet looks near as well. The electrical system is perfect and by perfect I mean perfect! Every single switch, knob, light and gauge works on the car.Heck even the lighter, courtesy light, trunk light and clock work ( keeps good time as well ).Oh and the seat belt warring buzzer sounds when seat belts are not being used! You will find absolutely no Lucas electrical gremlins on this car! The car is rust free and I find no evidence of body filler or collision damage / repairs. The underbody is solid as are the inner / outer rocker panels and truck pan. The suspension is very good and the car sits evenly and squarely on the ground as seen in the photos. The bumpers are what I would call near perfect with no dents, scrapes or gouges . The side panels, doors, trunk and hood fit very nicely as seen in the photos with no visible dents or rust bubbles. The car comes with a near new top but it does need to be installed. The installation would take two people about 30 minutes or so to complete. The car comes with a good spare tire and chrome trim ring, original jack / lug wrench, repair manual, top cover, 2 very nice condition sun visors and a bunch of misc. parts as see in the photos. The only negative is the paint. It is of driver quality but I would plan on a repaint if I was you. I don't want any one to be disappointed with the car so please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. The auction is the sell the car not win and then decide so have your funds ready by auctions. end. I have a clear NC title in the previous owners name as a repair file dating back to 1992. If you need to transport the car you can get a FREE low cot estimate on the web at Able Auto Transport ( I have used them in the past and they pick up and delivery very, very fast. I don't have a " Buy It Now " price but I'm open to offers ( above the starting price ) but will only end the auction using E-bay methods so we are both covered. On Jul-07-12 at 11:28:11 PDT, seller added the following information: WOW!! I have much interest in the car and I just listed it. To be clear the body is what I would call "laser" straight" as you look down the sides ( no dents or dings I can see or find ) and truly all it needs to be a real winner is paint. Again, no Lucas electrical "Gremlins" on this car and it truly drives out great. In person inspections and driving of the car are more than welcome and really encouraged as I want the buyer to be happy with what they get. My feedback is very important to me so ask any and all questions or some by and see / drive the car in person. On Jul-09-12 at 12:38:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello All, Good news! I forgot the tonneau cover support rails and the original leather stowage bag at the previous owners home. He is sending them to me and they should be here by auctions end. The cost to replace this with after a after market frame and plastic stowage bag from Victoria British LTD is about $100 ( Parts numbers 9-9023 and 9-383 ). Bad news! I failed to mention the lower front windscreen body gasket is missing ( VBL part #9-9313 / cost $6.95 ) . I'll try to get one ordered and put on the car but I can't make any promises. If I don't I'll have a new one sent to the winning bidder.
