Vehicle Detail
Original 1968 Mustang Convertible owned by a friend of mine. Has been in the same family for over 30 years, first time offered. Has been in dry storage and has not seen rain in 30 years. Due to sitting, 2 years ago floor pans, torque boxes, and inner rockers were professionally replaced. Car has very nice lines and gaps. Original color was lime gold, painted blue some years back. The body is not perfect, can be restored. The only rust is on right rear frame rails at rear spring shackle. Right door and quarter look to have minor popping. Overall this is a good twenty footer. Many new mechanical parts have been installed: fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel tank, radiator, battery, solenoid, tires. Interior has new seat covers, carpet and pad. These new parts and interior listed were installed less than 2 years ago. This a 200 cubic inch 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission, all original. This car has no power options at all. Even the convertible top is manual. Windshield has rock chip on drivers side, all other glass is good. It does need new convertible top and back window, but top frame is usable. The top has not been up in a number of years. All chrome is good, driver quality. It has an after market radio that is sitting in the opening, but works. The original opening has not been cut. Not interested in any trades. The car has a low reserve, do not ask. Email me with any questions. UPDATE 7-6-2012Previous listing cancelled. Took car to mechanic to get front wheels balanced and for test drive. When the vehicle returned it was running on 5 cylinders and pushing oil out of the exhaust. Mechanic thinks more than a lifter problem and that the motor is shot. Therefore, we are listing car assuming that the motor is no good. We are offering this vehicle with no reserve.
