Up for auction is a 1950 Kaiser Frazer 4-door sedan. Previous owner was trying to turn it into a Rat-Rod, but wasn't able to finish it. I'm including a cool article on the Kaiser Vagabond/Traveler from Hemmings, even though this isn't either a Vagabond or Traveler the article is still pretty informative. It's an original article from a 2002-present magazine with some great information for a Kaiser restoration including where to get parts and other restoration info. Personally, if I could, I would have done a RESTOMOD on this car. It has beautiful lines. So, down to the details ... - 226 flathead six engine needs to be rebuilt. 112 HP. Engine starts, but smokes (a bit and goes away) and doesn't run for long (since carb. leaks). - Engine original to car, numbers matching. - Double barrel carburetor leaks, needs gaskets or a rebuild. - Seems to have body filler in quite a few places - Previous owner, in attempt to make it into a ratrod, added side pipes but need to be raised/tweaked to be able to drive down the road. - He said he lowered the back of the car, but I can't say for sure and am not sure of the condition of the leaf springs. - Front driver side window is broken. - Prev. owner added interior carpet and seats from a Cadillac (but those are 12 volt and the car is 6 volt...) - Hood release handle needs to be reattached to wire (see photo) - Interior (aside from carpet and seats) is unfinished and bare For any additional questions call Dave @ (616) 723-2571.
