Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a very nice Mercedes 450 SL. It has blue exterior, blue interior, blue soft top and a matching factory blue hard top. The car was purchased by my brother and after he got it home his wife said no to the deal she wants to upgrade their boat. So since he lives in very small town in Tennessee he sent it to me to sell for him. The exterior of the car looks great and the paint shines very nicely. I find no evidence of accidents, rust or body filler anywhere on the car. The floor pans and rocker panels look very solid. The bumpers look great and the black over riders, black center pieces and the black corner pieces look fantastic with no fading, scratches or gouges and in my opinion they are new or have been recently replaced . The wheels look to have been recently reconditioned and look fantastic ( paint is perfect, no rust, scratches or road rash ) as well. The car has Michelin tires all away around. Car also has MB fog lights. The soft top is in great shape and the color is deep blue with no fading, tears and glass is clear (see photo). The car also comes with a matching factory blue hard top ( pictures upon request) which is in great shape. I have driven the car and it drives out great. The car holds the road very well at highway speeds and brakes well. The car starts right up with no smoke, noises or engine rattles. The transmission shifts into, up / down and through all gears with no hesitation, clunking or noises. It was over 100 degrees here yesterday and I put the top down and went for a nice drive and the car held good oil pressure and engine temperature. The engine is tight and after being put up after a nice stretch of her legs I found no oil or fluid leaks ( after 5 days in my garage which has a painted floor so I would know ). The engine note sounds very nice and it appears the exhaust has been replaced some time in the recent past(not for certain just my opinion). The interior is in great shape and the dash has no cracks and door panels and seats are rip / tear free. The carpet is in very nice shape and has MB logo carpeted floor mats. All interior lights, switches and gauges work (heck even the clock works). The blower fan works as does the AC. The cruise control works. Power windows work with no issues and all locks including the trunk work. All exterior directional lights, running lights, back up lights, brake lights and license plate light are working. The car has the original emergency kit, spare tire, jack, repair manual and owners hand book. The only thing I have found on the car over the past 2 weeks is the antenna sticks at the 3/4 high mark. I'm a car guy and I would have no issue driving this car any distance. This auction is to sell the car so please and I mean please ask any and all questions prior to bidding and if possible come by to see / drive the car for yourself as I'm sure you will be pleased. If you would like more specific photos please just send me what you want and your email address and I'll get them right over to you. If you need to have the car transported to your location you can get a free online quote on the web at Able Auto Transport. The cars starting price is well below NADA classic car price listing so it is a great value. I have a clear Tennessee title in the previous owners name in hand. 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL 2 Door Coupe/Roadster Ppricing Original MSRP Low Retail Average Retail High Retail $35,839 $13,900 $23,300 $34,600
