Vehicle Detail
1970 Oldsmobile 442 "Clone". A Cutlass Supreme with most components to make it a 442. The motor was originally a 350 Rocket changed to a big block Olds 455 with C heads. I have owned approx 8 muscle cars over the past 20 years and this one is in the top 3 best I've owned. It has the aftermarket fiberglass hood that fit's nice, unlike some that don't seem to line up right. The look of the 70 Olds ram air hood with the OAI "Outside Air Induction" is the best looking hood of any muscle car out there (In my opinion). Every panel on this car is as close to perfect as you can get. The door's and trunk close with a resounding thump and line up perfect. I can not find one spot of rust or repair anywhere on the car. This car must have been garaged and elderly owned for many years to be in it's current condition. The odometer reads 106,000 and I believe that to be accurate on the body. The underside of the car is just as clean as the exterior. The frame is flawless. This is an original Olds 75 paint code Matador Red car. The previous owner put alot of money into a factory correct repaint and even included the optional rear deck wing. The pictures are a small window to how good it really looks in person. The black interior is in perfect condition with no rips or tears. The dash has never been hacked apart and the console area is also perfect. The original 8 track area has been upgraded to a nice sounding 4 speaker stereo with amp mounted in trunk. Every interior light works and looks like a showpiece at night. Factory tilt wheel, power windows, factory tach, factory A/C the car even has a working power trunk release switch in glove box. Rear window deck defrost blower switch mounted on dash. The A/C was never put back in after motor was replaced. I have all A/C components and mounting brackets for a big block to go back into the car and even tested the compressor which works without leaks. I have 2 sets of rims, the original Olds 442 rims painted the correct grey and set of 15" American Racing rims with all new tires mounted. The motor starts and runs perfect. It purrs at idle. It could use an engine bay detail and paint touch-up, that is on my list for next winter projects if it does not sell. I like walking to the back of the car when it's running to hear that distinctive big block olds rumble coming out the correct 442 trumpet exhaust tips. The car cruises the highway and hold on if you punch it, it will pin you in your seat. The transmission also shifts perfect. There are no known mech issues, a turn key reliable car. This is a driver that you can enjoy and have tons of fun without breaking the bank. Everyone who see's it loves it. Only the olds fanatics know it is a clone. You can easily purchase the correct black 442 side stripes that would look awesome on the car. I have not owned the car a long time. I bought it from a from a guy who had a son going away to college and needed money quick and it was too good of a deal to pass up. I have it parked in my climate controlled garage and never exposed to the elements. The car will be for sale until July 14th at which time I will have my mechanic install the A/C and purchase 442 side stripes that my local body shop can easily install. I will have no problem enjoying this car for another season. Buy it now or make me your best offer. Please no low ball offers Im not desperate and they won't be accepted. Send me an e-mail with any questions. Thanks for looking and goodluck, Paul.
