Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1986 Suzuki Samurai Tin Top, and I know I will miss it when it's gone. I looked for one of these a long time before I found one in this condition. This Sammy is in very good original condition. It has 111,300 miles on it, which many of those were put on being towed behind an RV. I have no way of knowing how many are actual driven miles. The man I bought it from guessed they were probably 50/50. I will describe the Sammy the very best I can, but if you have additional questions, please call me at 641-504-3800 (because I do not check emails everyday). I will start with the positive things first. Mechanically, everything works great. High/Low 4x4, as well as 2 wheel drive. Transmission shifts smoothly. Engine starts and runs great with no smoking or knocks. Very dependable. All glass is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips. Driver and passenger windows go up and down effortlessly. Rear windows open and close, plus seal tight. Back door window has a rear defrost that works. Windshield wiper and washer work. Lock out hubs work free and easy. All of the lights work. Exhaust is quiet. Dash is in excellent condition, with no cracks. Carpeting is in good condition. Rear seat is like new. The doors are mint condition with no rust at all. Frame and suspension are in very good condition with no rust or rot. All three doors open and close, and seal when shut. Tires have less than 2000 miles on them. This Sammy was garaged most of its life, when not in use. However, it is 26 years old, and not in new condition. It does not burn any oil, but it will leak about 1/2 quart between oil changes in 3000 miles, due to leaky valve cover gasket. Both front fenders have a rust hole smaller than a quarter in the same spot on each fender. All other rust is just surface rust. There is a small dent high, near the top, about the size of a golf ball. The backdoor also has a dent below the handle. I tried to show them in the pictures, but they don't show up well, because they are small. I've taken the spare tire mount off of the back, but do have the spare, and the mount and hardware. It also comes with a bra shown in the picture. The clutch works very well, and does not slip in any gear at all. I think it may need adjusted because the pedal is out a ways before it takes a hold. Local mechanic said that it is working fine, and there's no need to do anything with it. These little Sammy Tin Tops are becoming very hard to find, especially in this unmolested, original condition.
