Vehicle Detail

I AM RELISTING THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS WINNING BIDDER DID NOT READ THE AUCTION REQUIREMENTS - TO BID ON THIS VEHICLE, PLEASE BE A SERIOUS BIDDER, HAVE 20 OR MORE POSITIVE FEEDBACKS, AND LIVE IN THE U.S. THANKS! Up for auction is a fine example of the classic Subaru Brat! These trucks are virtually impossible to find anymore, and this is a PERFECT example of a complete, original Brat! I'm selling this truck for my 72yo father, so I'll do the best I can to describe it. He purchased the truck from it's original owner in 1998 when it had 120,000 miles on it, and has only put another 14k since....literally driving it to church and school where he teaches. The truck is ALL ORIGINAL and runs great!! Essentially nothing on it has been changed. He kept meticulous records and receipts, as did the previous owner (gas logs from 1984). This truck is a fantastic, original example of, what has become, a very rare car!! DETAILS: - 4x4 on demand, Hi and Lo gears - Standard (stick) 4 speed transmission - Cruise - Tilt steering wheel - Air conditioning - Dual rear sliding window (slides open on both sides) - Removable T-tops (rare option!) - Cloth blue interior - Original radio, with an after-market Kenwood added as well - Factory bed cab - Rear jump seats with seat belts and head rests - Roll bar - Front brush guard / push bar THE GOOD: The truck runs great! It starts right up and idles perfectly. From what I can tell, it drives excellently. The ride is smooth and solid. The engine has plenty of pep, and it cruises along the freeway easily and comfortably. It has new tires (about 50 miles), new catalytic converter, and new front axles. It recently passed smog, and is currently registered. The body is in fantastic shape. No major dents, dings or scratches. All of the electrical (lights, blinkers, etc.) work perfectly. The doors close tightly. The windows roll up and down smoothly. As far as I know, the T-tops don't leak. The seats are comfortable and full of spring. The transmission shifts smoothly and reliably. And all of the parts and pieces are here - all emblems, trim, handle, knob, etc. It's complete! It comes with a front brush guard/push bar that is pictured, but not installed - he had it installed for awhile and it looks really good with it on. The rear seats are in fantastic shape and the seat belts work perfectly. It also comes with a factory bed cab which is in really good shape. Oh, and this truck has ALWAYS been in California and NEVER off-road. THE BAD: Please keep in mind, the truck is 28yo and it has wear and tear. I will list EVERYTHING wrong with it that I can see, and my dad told me about....but I am not a mechanic. - There is one small dent on the rear driver's quarter panel about the diameter of a soda can and very shallow, maybe 1/8". - The paint looks fine from 10 feet, but is fairly oxidized when you get up close. It has no major scratches or scuffs, but could use a paint job to really shine. - The interior is in fine shape. There are tears in the seats, but it comes with seat covers. The dash has cracks, but it also has a dash cover. Overall, the interior is probably the weakest part of the car....and it's not that bad. - There is a slow oil leak at the front of the engine. It doesn't appear to be anything major, just oily residue on the front part of the engine. - My dad tells me the cruise control doesn't work. He said he got a flat tire one day and the cable (?) for the cruise control wrapped around the wheel and snapped. But if that's replaced it should work fine. - Some of the vent slats on the heater/AC outlets are cracked. - The carpets could use a shampoo. Well, I think that about covers it. But if you have any questions at all, please email. The winning bidder is responsible for pick-up or shipping of the vehicle. And please, if you have less than 20 positive feedbacks, email me before bidding. Thanks, and happy bidding!!
