Vehicle Detail
This car is not road ready, but have the parts to fix it. I took the car to be fixed, and my mechanic thought it was running rough, so he put a compression tester on it. #3 cylinder is only pushing 30 lbs. even with that, the car runs, and will drive down the road once the rear suspension is fixed. I did not use this car during the winter months, and went to move it into the garage. When pulling it out of the snow, I bent the rear driver side suspension. I have the replacement for it, but after finding out about the compression, I did not put it on. Car will need to be hauled on a trailer, car dolly will not work as the wheel is towed out. The steering column and window regulators will also need replaced, but the parts ARE included in the sale. I used this car for a two years and it never left me stranded. The car does run, and can drive onto a trailer. I can trailer it for $1.25 per mile (one way miles going off mapquest) within about 400 miles of Algona IA. To answer a few Geo specific questions: The front suspension is solid and has not been modified in any way. there is some surface rust on the under body, but it is minimal for a 93 Geo. As far as I know, this XFI is original and no parts have been pulled (cam, computer...) The driver side interior door handle works, but is partly broken. A piece of insulated wire was attached to guarantee one would not get stuck into the front seat. The passenger interior handle is also broken, but no wire on that one. There is some minor rust on the car including the hatch, gas tank lid, and wheel wells. This is minor surface rust that can be fixed without replacing body metal. I do have a set of tires (all factory recommended size) and original hub caps that I will throw into the sale for bids over $700. They are 75% tread or better. I pulled them off another Geo I bought for parts. The tires on the car right now are 12" rear, and 13" front and are not very good condition. The stereo is in poor condition, and needs to be replaced. The right rear signal lens, as well as the center plastic piece between the tail lights is broken. I do NOT have those parts. Again, the sale INCLUDES the two replacement window regulators, the complete replacement steering column with one key. Included with a successful winning bid over $700 is a 4 very good tires on rims matched for the car with hubcaps. Payment must be received before car is removed. Bank to bank wire transfer, cash or check. Check must clear bank before car is removed or delivered. payment must be made within 5 days of auction closing. I am willing to store the car for up to 30 days if needed (no charge, it's just my front yard) On Jun-17-12 at 20:45:12 PDT, seller added the following information:Forgot to mention that the passenger side has some dents in it. They look like someone leaned on the car. They are not impact dents, I think that they can be popped out easily. I do not think the pics show it well, but they are all along that side.On Jun-18-12 at 20:21:33 PDT, seller added the following information:Got to thinking about it today, and wanted to mention that a new exhaust was installed on the car in 2009. The existing had rusted off before the cat. converter. A new cat was NOT installed onto the car as we have no smog testing where I live.On Jun-24-12 at 18:47:42 PDT, seller added the following information:pictures are up for the front suspension. I could not get a pic of the mount behind the oil pan, but it is solid like the others. The pics also show where the new exhaust comes to, and is new to the end of the tail pipe, including muffler. The suspension part sitting next to the open door is the replacement rear suspension that will go with the sale of this car. Thanks for bidding.
