1960 MGA 1600 Roadster 1960 MGA 1600 Roadster "Barn Find" This little jewel has been in dry storage since 1974 Original color was the very rare "Alamo Beige" with Red interior We recently rebuilt the hydraulics, cleaned the points on the fuel pump, installed a new battery, cleaned up the carbs, etc. The little 1600 runs great! As you can see the engine was painted blue at some point indicating that it may have been rebuilt before going into storage. The engine fires right up and the oil pressure is 65 lb/sq.in. at 1000 rpm! The transmission shifts properly and is smooth. The clutch is a little chattery if not engaged just right. The headlights, turn signals, wipers, map light, and all of the gauges work and believe it or not, the radio plays! The Amco top looks almost new and it is date coded March of 1972, NO yellowing of the windows. The car does include side curtains, although they could use a little work (the perimeter seals are bad). The jack and knockoff hammer are missing. There is a tool bag with some odds and ends in it though. The spare wire wheel is also included. The car had a very amateur respray to black sometime in the early seventies. It has its share of little dents and dings, but it's still a pretty nice body. The interior is in very nice condition, but could use a proper carpet set. There is evidence of the typical rust in the rockers and dog leg area of the rear quarters. The bottoms of the front fenders look nice and solid though. The frame looks great, I didn't see any rust areas and the wooden floor boards look nice and solid. Drive it as is or restore, but please install some fresh tires, I don't think they were close to new when it was parked 38 years ago!
