1965 Rambler American 440H, 2dr. hdtp, 232 2V, automatic, power steering. I am forced to sell my Americans due to a family crisis. I am also listing a 67 American 440 2dr. hdtp and a pair of 65 American 440 convs. I have not done much to this car since I purchased it. The previous owner had it tagged and drove it quite a bit. The 232 runs smooth and has plenty of power. The power steering makes a big difference compared to my 67 with manual steering. The transmission shifts smooth, but sometimes it's alittle finicky going into reverse. I found if I wiggle the shifter back and forth it goes in OK. Maybe the linkage needs adjusted. I haven't had the time to check it. It has good brakes and drives down the road fine. The tires are good. The body is very solid, but there is a rust spot above the right rear wheel and it needs a right front floor pan. It must of had rust in the trunk floor because the previous owner cut it out and replaced it with I believe is a Mustang or Maverick gas tank. It seems to work pretty well. The paint is faded above the belt moulding and on the roof. It needs the rear window gasket because it's cracked up. The interior is really nice, with only the one separation in the drivers seat.
