1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible, A VW Classic designed by Karmann, the final year manufactured. Color is Mars Red with Black interior and off-white top and convertible boot. Purchased in November 2009 from a small dealership in Salt Lake City, Utah. Odometer was not working at the time and read 43,886 miles, and still does. Vehicle appears to have been thoroughly undercoated, since the floor pans are in good shape, however, the beetle has experienced significant surface rust, including the heater channels underneath the running boards and the bolts around the driver’s side rear fender. The vehicle passed Oregon emissions, has clear title and has been driven roughly 200 miles since 2009. It had a complete tune up in July 2011 using Bosch parts, and also received a new Mass Air Flow Sensor, Distributor and running boards. The convertible is original and definitely needs to be replaced, including the interior liner, but the boot cover still looks good. The interior is typical for the year, and includes some tears in the driver’s seat. Further, the car needs brakes, shocks and a muffler. The beetle runs well, and has great potential for someone looking to invest in a fun restoration project. This vehicle is being sold as is, there is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
