It is a very complete, original example of the famed Toyota Land Cruiser line. As the photos show, this FJ40 has not been altered and is in very nice original condition. It starts easily, runs perfectly, and is very strong cruising at 65-70 mph with ease. We took the time to get it to pass the California smog test. This FJ40 is a dream off-road machine and will satisfy any vintage four-wheel enthusiast. DETAILS: It has the original rubber floor mats & headliner. The seats have recently been re-covered with era-correct replacements. The 1977 FJ40 is wearing a second paint coat (done in the 1990’s) which has a patina that makes it look much like the original paint. Very little on this machine needs to be touched. In fact, as often comes with low-mileage survivor cars, we have the original Owner's Manual and even the cans of touch up paint. There is a working cassette AM/FM player that has good speakers and great sound. All items throughout the FJ work perfectly. There is rust in the rear deck/floor area. If needed we could have it replaced & repainted, at buyer's cost. OWNERSHIP HISTORY: This FJ has been a California truck for 30 years (1977-2007) and then it spent four years in Washington state with its second owner. In 2011 it was sold to a guy in Oregon who tinkered with it and got everything working perfectly. It was sold to the current fourth owner in late-2011 in San Diego who added it to his low-mileage collection. It's now being offered to a new owner that wants a nicely preserved FJ40 to drive or off-road. TECHNICAL: 11.9" front disk brakes & drum rear brakes. Fully sync 4-speed manual gearbox with 2-speed transfer case (1.00:1 in high range for 2WD & 4WD and 1.96:1 in 4WD low range. 4.11:1 drive axle gearing with typical Toyota fixed front hubs. 4885 lb gross vehicle weight rating. Bucket seats with adjustable headrests. Shoulder & lap seat belts. Cassette AM/FM with Alpine speakers sounds great. Rear flip-out quarter windows. Rear jump seats. 16.4 gallon fuel tank. Factory installed roll bar. Swing-away rear mounted spare tire & wheel carrier. Rear step at the double-door rear entry. Rear stabilizer bar.
