Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1973 914 with the original 1.7 injected motor. (5 more hp than the 1.8 in 1974) The car was needing some TLC when I got it in 2004. There was some rust on the exterior truck, which was replaced and then the entire car was repainted. The car runs great if it isn’t setting for too long and starts up with not much effort. The compression on the motor is 165 and it does not leak (no diapers required ) or smoke. It recently had a tune up and oil change - getting it ready for summer. The transmission shifts smoothly as it should. The tires are Mega Metric IIs 15/165/380 Radials with approx 75%+ tread left on them. The alloy wheels are in ok shape as well. The suspension is good both front and back and sticks nicely on the road. The interior is nice. Only a couple of small cracks in the dash and the driver’s seat, but all the gauges work as they should. The carpet is in fair shape, no rips or stains but it is beginning to show some wear. The targa top headliner is nice and the visors are ok – the passenger slide likes to come down on its own. The door panels are nice and have new speakers installed. The arm rest are not broken. The material is in good shape. The glass is in excellent shape all the way around. Windows go up and down as they should. The heater system is all there. All the duct work is in place and the heat exchangers work well. The horn line was disconnected when I got the car painted, and I’ve not gotten it fixed. The steering wheel is the original and starting to show some wear on the stitching but the Porsche embossed logo is still looking good. The lights work as they should and the headlight motors work as they should. The body is in nice shape except for a few things. 1. Very minor dings in the doors. 2. Targa top paint is starting to bubble. 3. rear bumper passenger side up where the pad meets the chrome, there is a light pushing in of the rubber, but no body damage. 4. the lower rockers have a couple of dings and some scratches in them. Not sure if I would fix. The car is really beautiful and attracts attention where ever it goes and is a pleasure to drive. Notes also replaced the starter, plugs, points, cap, rotor, condenser, PVC valve, relay, brake lines, calipers, clutch, gear box, e-brake and almost all of the weather stripping. Please feel free to ask any questions or come and view the car. Buyer is responsible for all shipping cost. I will be happy to help in any way possible. No reserve Thanks for looking and best of luck.
