Vehicle Detail

BARN FIND! This 220 SE was stored inside a barn from the early 70's until a few weeks ago. It has an aluminum head on the straight six engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection and four speed transmission shifted from the column. Less than 2,000 were built worldwide with fuel injection. The condition of the engine is unknown. The same with the brakes, there is no fluid in the master cylinder. We simply unloaded the car, vacuumed it, and took pictures. It includes the spare tire, a spare wheel, and the original working Bilstein jack. All the interior wood trim is also still there. There are two spots of body filler we found on the right fender and under the right taillight (see pics). The car rolls and steers fine, and the tires still hold air. It would make a great project or drivetrain donor for someone building a Ponton coupe or Cabriolet. Clean title. No reserve. Thanks for looking! On May-27-12 at 15:55:29 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I've had some questions about the underside of the car so I took some more pictures and put them in a photobucket album. I used the factory jack to lift the car, get under it & be sure the jack points were all solid. The floor pans and suspension mounting points look good as well. The bad news? The right spare tire well IS RUSTED through. Sorry to the guys I messaged, I didn't think it was. I also need to add 1.)The windshield is cracked. 2.)There are 3 small holes: one on the top of the right fender, the bottom of the left fender, and the left rear door. 3.)There looks to be a few inches of wiring missing on the inside of the left fender under the hood. I'd say it's from rodents. These are all in the new pictures. On May-30-12 at 17:46:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some pictures of the car while it was stored in the building as well as the building it was in. In the Photobucket link above.
