This is Gertie. Gertie is a 1999-2000 model Saab 9-5 SE wagon. Gertie has about 161,000 miles of "life experience." Due to a relocation to New York City, Gertie and I have decided to end our relationship. We've agreed that we no longer need each other, and wish each other the best in our new lives apart. Gertie has asked me to assist her in finding a new mate. Gertie is no spring chicken, but she is a strong, faithful runner, with a well-documented medical history of everything from four fresh, less than year-old tires to a Neutral Safety Sensor replacement and a brand new starter! She has also had several hoses, a window drive motor, and a new battery during the course of our relationship. Gertie is VERY health conscious, and routinely got her oil changed every three thousand miles during our time together. Gertie can cruise at 80mph for hours at a time with nary a complaint! Gertie is most comfortable around someone with experience with her cultural background, i.e. a current/former Saab aficionado. Gertie would work awesome for someone who needs the space of a wagon/small SUV with the refined driving manners of a car. Gertie would make a reliable, cost-effective first car for a son and/or daughter! Gertie can work as a phone book or newspaper delivery vessel! You can fit a bicycle in Gertie without having to remove the front wheel! In fact, with the seats down, two average-sized people can sleep in Gertie if they are road tripping to a Bluegrass music festival! Gertie can even seat five fully-grown manchildren in comfort, with enough room to haul several cases of beer, a cooler and a grill to the sporting event/horse show/heavy metal concert parking lot of your choice! Like many girls her age, Gertie has a few flaws that I've overlooked, because I love her. -Gertie needs a new fuse. Her alarm will "complain" at all hours of the day and night, and because it's deep inside her, I had to pull the fuse as a short-term solution. Unfortunately, this also negates Gertie's ability to air-condition her cabin. If you want Gertie to be cool on a hot summer day, you have to A: Cut her alarm wires, or B: Replace the alarm battery. -Gertie's exhaust/muffler is loose right now. Depending on my mechanic's schedule, this may or may not be fixed. -She has a significant amount of rust on her rear right quarter panel, and a bit on her hood. (Check pictures.) -Her wheels are scuffed up. Scuffed so deep they can't be buffed out. -Her SID has problems with display.(Pictured) I never notice it, but it might bother you. You can either procure a reclaimed SID on the web or fix it yourself via Saab forum tutorial. -I'm sure she has a few other minor flaws I'm forgetting to mention, but she is twelve years old. Understand that she is not "showroom new." She's more "Jersey Turnpike Gentleman's Club." She's not the best or the hottest, but she still has purpose. Gertie is crashing on my driveway in Long Island City, Queens, New York. With a bit of notice, you can even come and visit her! Gertie is currently titled, inspected and registered in the great state of Pennsylvania. Any and ALL costs of title/registration transfer are your responsibility.
