Vehicle Detail

1991 Isuzu trooper II, 2.8L V6 4X4 5 speed with factory air, 191505 miles. Manufactured September 1990. This is a project the short block is going to need to be replaced. The previous owner, a co-worker of mine was in the process of overhauling the upper half of the engine. He had the heads overhauled and had just finished installing them. The engine was running but he had just water in the cooling system to trouble shoot for leaks. He got caught by one of those rare freezes in North Texas, and it froze the block and pushed out a freeze plug. I reinstalled the plug and went to fill the cooling system only to find out that there is a leak into the oil passage. I drained the engine and flushed the cylinders. Without water in the cooling system I was able to start the engine, it actually fired right up and idled smoothly after a year and a half of not being started. I tried one more last effort to find the leak, so I pulled the air intake and checked for any source of the leak, then reinstalled the intake with new gaskets. Unfortunately, it appears that there must be a crack in the short block, since it is still transferring water into the oil pan. This would be a great project for a 4X4 enthusiast. The body is straight and solid, still in original paint. The only corrosion I can see is from the fasteners that hold the door handles in place, and they only left a stain down the doors. This was originally a northern California car, and extremely well cared for. New synthetic oil in all gearboxes. I’d hate to see such a solid 4X4 go to the wrecking yard, but I just don’t have time to remove and replace the engine. This vehicle must be towed or trailered home, it is not capably of being driven until the engine is repaired. On Jun-07-12 at 15:09:25 PDT, seller added the following information:I have some concerns new user accounts on E-Bay with no history or feedback. Now granted I started with a 0 for feedback also, but I didn’t start by buying a vehicle. I would like all users with no feedback to contact me personally before making bids. Either by phone at 214-793-8419 or by e-mail at leblanc2005@sbcglobal.net. This way I can be assured that you know the condition of this Isuzu trooper and payment terms. If I do not have any contact with these bidders, I will start canceling those bids to new accounts 24hrs before the end of the auction. One other detail that buyers need to be aware of, in the process of determining what was causing the coolant leak some minor disassembly of the engine accessories was required. Currently the Fuel injection, alternator, AC compressor, water pump, and timing chain cover are removed. I can reinstall all or some of these items if required to show the engine running; also in case the buyer needed the trooper running to assist a moving company with loading.
