This is auction is for my father's vehicle. He has a number of vehicles and this is only being sold to make room for new interests. He is the 3rd owner of this SL and it was fully restored in 2003. He has driven it less than 4000km since, only during abnormally perfect weather. The On-Frame restoration (can't remove body from frame on this model) included:- Body and Hardtop completely stripped, straightened and painted- Mechanical tune-up on engine including new wires/hoses and installation of point-less ignition- New clutch assembly, front/rear seals and shifter bushings - Reset Mechanical Fuel Injection and tested fuel injectors- Bumpers are Brand New (not re-chromed)- Brand new headlight assemblies ($500/each!)- Brand New Tires, Steel Wheels and Hub Caps painted to match (Hub Caps were ordered directly from Germany, not available in the U.S.)- 100% of rubber pieces were replaced (wiring, weatherstripping, bushings, hoses, belts, etc.)- New exhaust from headers to tip- Seats were reupholstered in original matching leather Notes on vehicle:- Vehicle already included aftermarket stereo before purchase and includes 2 speakers mounted in rear seat. You can see this in the pictures. It was done nicely so it was unaltered during the restoration.- Front driver side fender has a small chip on the top due to a local mechanic dropping a spark plug on it.- Sale will include car cover and roll-around carrier for hard top storage. Vehicles soft top is in good condition (no need for restoration) but is very rarely unfolded due to the weather conditions when driving. Hard top is simply removed and replaced. The car has never seen snow, ice, or even rain and is maintained inside at a minimum of 45 degrees in the winter and maximum of 80 in the summer. It is a blast to drive and gets plenty of thumbs up when in city traffic.
