Vehicle Detail
1969 Mustang Fastback. 302 (with headers), 3 speed on the floor. It was painted in 2000, and the interior was done in 2001. When I'm not driving it, it's garaged. Floorboards and trunk floors, etc, are all good. No rust at all (see pictures). The frame is good except one small spot which I have pointed out in the pictures. I drive the car almost every weekend. Since I have owned the car (1999) I have done the following work. I have all the receipts for this work and the parts, which will come with the car. · Paint Job· Replaced the interior seat buns, front and back seat covers, headliner, sun visors, window cranks, Center console trim piece and and radio bezel, door panels and carpet. I added an aftermarket sport steering wheel (real wood).· Wheels (Magnum 500) and tires. Tires have less than 7,000 miles on them.· Trunk floors and gas tank (previous owner did the floorboards)· New lower front suspension. Lower control arms, bushings, tie rods and the upper and lower ball joints (see pictures)· Starter was replaced this year· Replaced all the chrome trim except the C trim behind the back window and the rear bumper. Door handles, mustang scripts, C-pillar emblem, side light bezels, backup lights, (etc.) were all replaced when it was painted. · I put lower gear ratio rear end center section. Stock was 2.73:1. the Center Section broke in 2002 and I replaced it with a rebuilt Ford 3.25:1 center section for more torque. · All (4) brake cylinders and pads were done a few years back. This car looks great and gets a lot of attention on the road and at the cruise nights. It's a driver, meaning it's not a #1 winning show car. It has been painted a couple times, but the paint looks great and is smooth. It needs odds and ends to be done. Here is what I would do if I were going to keep the car. · Gas Gauge. It worked when I took it in to get the tank replaced, it didn't when I got it back. The sending unit needs replaced ($28 part from Mustangs Unlimited)· The radio needs mounted and plugged in. I don't know if the radio works or not but, it is a 69 radio, and it needs mounting.· Needs a backup light switch. The backup lights do not come on.· There is one small home in the lower frame on the front drivers side. It's been there since I got it and never got any bigger. Its pointed out in the pictures. Needs a patch eventually.· Needs rear window rubber. I have the rubber it just needs to be done.· Interior sail panels need replaced. I also have these (new) but they have to be done at the same time as the rear window rubber. I have both pieces that will come with the car.· Windshield washers do not work (not the wipers, they work..the washer spray)· It has a small oil drip at the rear of the engine. If I leave it in the driveway after I drive it, it'll leak a few drops on the pavement. Never enough to drop the oil level over the summer, but it should be mentioned. · The rear bumper is "OK". They are cheap and if I were to keep the car, I'd eventually replace it. While the engine bay is rust free, one area that has rust is right under the battery as seen in the pictures. I have the front spindles from a mid 70's Ford Granada that would come with the car. These allow for a conversion to front disc brakes. This is a nice car, but it's not perfect. The car does look just as good in person as it does in the pictures, but it's not a show car. I drive it every weekend, as you can see by the driven look of the chassis. It's never left me stranded, and I've never had an engine issue. The car has the original engine and transmission, and the guy I bought it from replaced the clutch about a year before I bought it. He also told me that at the time (1999) that the engine had about 60,000 miles on it after a rebuild. I have no way to validate that statement or to what extent it may have been rebuilt, other than to say it does run great and has never failed me. The odometer says 74,500, but I don't know if that is accurate. It does not smoke or burn any oil, and it runs cool. No overheating issues The engine bay (as seen in the pictures) is rust free except the one spot under the battery (seen in the pictures). I am more than happy to take questions via telephone phone call at 603-490-4207 in the evening (after 6:00 pm eastern time). I am also more than happy for you come see the car, or send someone to look at it for you. I can send more specific pictures if requested, and will tell you everything about the car if you want to talk live or through email (69mustangsport@comcast.net). This is a nice driver car with all the hard stuff done. I drive it every weekend, and have since 2000. It's just time for me to move on to something else. If you have an 05 or later Mustang GT that you are looking to sell, with Manual transmission that's black, white, red, blue, silver or legend lime, and you want to talk about a trade ( or my mustang as partial trade), I'd be interested in hearing from you. (not yellow, not grabber orange, not that mica Red and not grey). Again not a perfect car, but a great driver in need of someone who has an interest. Having owned it for 13 years, I've lost interest and my mind is on other cars to replace it (like the Mustang I mention above or a base model manual transmission 2010 Camaro which I would happily put my car up for partial trade). Now the business stuff... The buyer must pay $250 deposit within 24 hours to Pay Pal, or arrange with me to post into my bank account (prefer the latter). This is a non-refundable deposit. The remaining funds must be paid within 7 days, or as arranged with me after the sale. The buyer must contact me by telephone within 48 hours of the end of the auction to arrange final payment. I will not accept a personal check for any reason, from anyone. I prefer to have the money transferred into my bank account from yours. This is a very easy and secure process. I will accept a certified bank check, but I will not release the car until the bank check clears, and the money is in my account. This typically takes about a week. Or you can show up with a bag of cash ! HAHA You, the buyer, will make all arrangements for shipping the car, and are fully responsible for the cost of the shipping. I am not a dealer, so I don't know anything about shipping cars. You can also pick up the car in person. This car is sold as is, with no warranty.
