Vehicle Detail

I am posting this Packard for a family friend. He purchased this car about 3 years ago and and he and his family has enjoyed it very much, but he has decided to sell. Although he doesn't know much history on or about this particular car, he does have many receipts that helped me piece together some facts. The first postwar Packard was introduced in October 1945 and it was a continuation of the Clipper styling that was announced in 1942. Packard was able to produce only 2722 units in 1945 as the tooling had fallen into disrepair during the war. Production for 1946 was also limited as the availability for raw materials and labor unrest prevented Packard from reaching their production goal. Only 30,883 Packards were sold in 1946 and of those, only 5,714 Clipper Deluxe Eight's were built. Looking through the documents, it appears that this Packard was owned by someone that lived in Prince George, BC Canada prior to 2000. He then sold it to a gentleman that lived in Edmonds, Washington in April 2001 and he kept it until approximately 2006. The next owner had the car for a few years here in the Sacramento, California area, then the current owner acquired it. There are thousands of dollars worth of receipts of work that was done (well over $12,000), beginning in 2001 through 2004, all done by the same shop. The car is in very good overall condition. The interior is in great shape as well as the engine, trans, and carb. The undercarriage looks to be in really good condition as well. By looking at the receipts, It seems apparent that after the 2001 purchase the new owner had the car completely gone through mechanically (Engine, trans, carb) and replaced suspension components, brakes, brake lines, fuel lines, steering components, etc. In 2004 he had the undercarriage completely cleaned and replaced the front/rear springs. Judging by the repair orders, the car was only driven a few hundred miles a year from 2001 to 2004, starting at 72,600 miles at purchase in 2001 to the last repair order in 2004 stating 73106 miles. The car drives great and the current owner has never experienced any mechanical problems. It is very enjoyable to drive! It has the original 6 volt system and comes with an owners manual. Also, a new battery was recently installed. Inbox me if you would like more info on the receipts of work done or pics of them, or any other questions you might have. I get my notifications immediately and I will get right back to you. Thanks. The owner wants to re-list with no reserve!!!! The last bid was $12,600.00
