1982 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbo Diesel While it saddens me greatly, my beloved Mercedes must go; I currently do not have the financial means or storage to keep it. I am the second real owner of this car (not counting car dealers), and it was first owned by an older fellow in IL. This really is an amazing car and piece of history. I have loved it since I laid eyes on it, and it is definitely fun to drive. For the most part, it is still in outstanding condition given its age. I will describe all known exceptions truthfully and honestly. Functionally, it runs perfect, starts great, drives fine, and I am not aware of any issues in that area. It has just this past year started to show early signs of rust in a few spots under the factory original metallic grey paint, and the roof has faded/marbled, so some minor paint/body work is highly recommended to keep this car in pristine condition. Also this past year a crack appeared in the dash cover around the middle area. The door/window/sunroof moldings or gaskets should probably be replaced as they are dry-rotting, but are not too critical. I am not certain if the cruise control works, and I would assume the AC needs a recharge, as I'm not sure if it works either. I will include the original rims, which have brand new, never used, Cooper snow tires (prepared them for winter use, but luckily never had to drive it in winter). I will also include the original Becker AM/FM radio and speakers, although the new system sounds outstanding. The mileage may seem hard to believe given its age, but is correct and has never had the odometer replaced, etc. I sure hope I can find a good new home for her, I've really come to love this car.
