Vehicle Detail

B's Killer Bees LLC. is proud to offer another quality mopar muscle car project. Now being offered at NO RESERVE. Please read the entire description thoroughly and please don't hesitate to call with any questions. Thank you. Kurt B. (706) 296-3615 This is the first of our "Bodies in Black" offerings utilizing the best original sheetmetal, NOS sheetmetal and quality Auto Metal Direct products. We have been helping AMD develop many of their products and have used them on numerous projects including the first "true" Charger convertibles. This car is a 1971 Dodge Challenger optioned with the high performance 340 engine. Additional options include 727 automatic transmission, R/T hood, Air conditioning, power steering, vinyl roof etc. It was originally GY8 gold metallic, black vinyl roof, gold interior. This car was recently discovered in a barn...literally stored in the the rafters. It had been there for approximately 15 years. Having being a local Georgia car and being in dry storage for so long it was relatively solid though completely disassembled. Fortunately, the VIN plate, fender tag, original 340 and 727 were still with the car. It is a numbers matching car that is to say the original VIN plate, original fender tag, original cowl stamp, original radiator support, original 340 engine block and original transmission all retain the same serial stamping as they were stamped at the factory. I will provide pictures of any or all stamps to serious inquirers. The shell has been rotisserie mounted, thoroughly media blasted and covered with numerous coats of acid etching epoxy primer. The areas not able to be primed were injected with phosphoric acid based rust converter / preventative. Needless to say it has been very well preserved. It comes with original fenders which have undergone the same process as the shell. The fenders had several minor dents and very minor perforations which have been repaired. The doors are very nice and were originally on a R/T SE. They still have the holes for the upper moulding in them....left those not filled in case the buyer wants to upgrade the moulding. As far as rust repair to the shell goes...it will need to have a rear clip and left inner fender installed. The frame rails are very nice though there is a 2" by 2" patch that will be needed in the right rear rail...very minor. The roof is pretty nice though it had a tree fall on the left upper quarter area. This tree hit also dented the left outer wheel house...not too bad and relatively easy to repair. The front floor, footwell areas and the under rear seat pan will need very minor perforation repair. There are also minor repairs needed to the front windshield area and roof rail on both sides...very small patches needed. Included with the prepared shell are many new Auto Metal Direct parts....new R/T hood, left inner fender, quarter panels, trunk floor, deck lid, deck filler panel, rear valance with dual exhaust cut-outs, trunk gutters, trunk floor extensions, trunk floor braces. I am an AMD distributor and parts developer and will offer any additional parts to the buyer at the best prices possible. Also included is a New Old Stock (NOS) front valance. It is perfectly straight with some very minor surface rust. The drivetrain is mostly complete and was running when disassembled. The 340 block is very nice...original bore and will likely need to be taken 0.030 over. No problems with crank, manifolds etc. The 727 is very nice and was supposedly rebuilt 15 or so years ago...will likely need to be taken apart and cleaned at the least...but it looks great. Also included with this Body in Black is a nearly complete 1971 Challenger 318 rolling shell. It has most of the interior parts needed for the 340 shell including good dash assembly (non-ralley), console, seats, door panels, glass, regulators etc. It also has a complete 8 3/4 rear end, suspension, driveshaft etc. This project is being offered "AS-IS" however for additional cost of $3500 we can install the rear clip and inner fender. The shell will be jig mounted onto a Car-o-liner bench and welded with a Car-o-liner model CR510 double action medium frequency high compression spot welder. This will ensure the best possible assembly far exceeding original specifications. Please feel free to ask for references, pictures and more information concerning the "building" process. Parts specific to 1971 that are NOT included are the carburetor, air cleaner, radiator and grill/bezel assembly. There may also be some miscellaneous that the buyer will have to find, however we will try to get you as much as we can to help complete the car. The car will include a transferable State of Georgia registration, Bill of Sale and letter from the Barrow County, Georgia Tag office stating that a Bill of Sale only is necessary to transfer ownership of a vehicle 1986 or older. This will allow the buyer to obtain a title in their state if necessary. Deposit of $500 is required within 48 hours of auction close. The balance is required within two weeks. I can store the car for up to 30 days after that time arrangements for storage will need to be made. Both vehicles will need to be trailered or you can removed whatever parts desired from the parts car and leave the remainder. Because the car is for sale locally we have to reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Again, for more information or any questions on this car or to inquire about our services please feel free to call Kurt at (706) 296-3615.
