Vehicle Detail
I dropped the Scout $500.00, so let's start over. Auction for 7 days. Need to sell men! You're bidding on a 1966 International Scout. The 196 4-cylinder is the sought after, preferred engine. Also preferred is the 4-speed maual transmission. I purchased this Scout off eBay several months ago. Previous owner did a little misrepresenting on the extent of the restoration needing to be completed. I do not have the time or space that the remainder needs, therefore I'm relisting and will list the items still left to be completed. My extend of driving the Scout was driving it off of the car carrier and driving it into the garage, where it has been since purchased. The PO stated that other than needing a tune up, it ran fine. Drive train - Looks intact and drove as it was supposed to the short distance into the garage. I did not push the issue because the drum brakes need work and I wasn't ready to pump them up at a stop sign and hope they stopped! Brakes - My guess is that the wheel cylinders need to be rebuilt or replaced, fluid changed, etc. Master cylinder, unknown. Engine - Missing the air breather assembly. Interior - Bare metal. Solid, but no seats. I was told that Jeep seats work well. Dash - Although it's all there, nothing is hooked up. The gauge assembly needs to be hooked back up and screwed in. The typical things that need replacing in a 40+ year old vehicle like the paper tubes that go to the defrost vents. The Top - All the hardware is there and installed. I do not know the age of the top, but it's not new, but there are no holes in it either. The body - The PO told me it was the project he and his son took on and the son lost interest when it was in the body shop to be painted. He told me that when he got it out of the body shop, he listed it on eBay. The paint is new. He did put thick diamond pattern metal on the front floorpans which look pretty good, but it's not perfect. From the front seat area on back, it's very solid. Windows work fine. The piece that the gas cap screws to is missing. He put a 4 inch lift kit on the Scout. Needs bumpers. Misc. - Missing the passenger side door key lock. Rear lights need to be hooked back up. I'm not sure if any other wiring needs re-hooking after it came back from the body shop. Needs side mirrors. Feel free to ask questions and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge and I'll post the answers for all. Thanks for your interest.
