Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1972 Datsun 240Z. Although it may resemble stock appearance, it is by far from stock. It has been equipped with a Chevrolet V8 and a 5 speed transmission. I have owned this car for almost 10 years. I drove it around for approximately one year before installing the V8. I kept in on the road for a few more years, then took it off the road again a year or two ago to completely refinish and restore it. Over the past decade, nearly every component on this vehicle has been installed new, replaced, and/or upgraded. The engine is a 1969 Chevy small block 327, standard bore, with aluminum heads. It has been completely rebuilt a few years back, with little to no mileage since being completed. The transmission is a Borg Warner 5 Speed, out of a late-80’s V8 Camaro. It has a Competition Cam with a mild lope to it. The kit used to install the V8 was the JTR V8 Conversion Kit. I put the engine in place to save space. The engine is secured in place, but just needs the electrical and plumbing connections hooked back up to fire it up. All bodywork has been completed. The doors were gone over, and new rear quarter panel front doglegs were installed. The door handles were shaved, and the doors open with a keyless entry remote system. The fuel door was also smoothed, as well as the rear exhaust exit in the rear fascia. The hood has a fiberglass L88-style hood scoop blended into it. The battery tray was relocated to an area behind the passenger seat. The body is block sanded, and ready for finishing, paint, re-assembly, and panels lined up. All glass is good, and can be re-installed. The door jambs and undercarriage areas have already been painted as well. The frame rails were replaced approximately 6 years ago. I cut out all old frame rails and floor pans, and installed 2-1/2” square tubing in its place, then tied the rails into the rear of the car. I installed the Painless Wiring 18-Circuit complete wiring harness into the car a few years back. ALL components were replaced, NOT spliced. All terminals were soldered onto the proper leads, such as headlight switches, wipers, etc. The harness looks like it belongs there !!!! The entire suspension is the Energy Suspension System Hyper-Flex kit. All components were replaced, both front and rear. Handling is incredible. The following items and/or systems have been installed or replaced in recent years, with little to no wear: - 1969 Chevy 327 Small Block Engine - Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads - Weiand aluminum intake manifold - Edelbrock 750 CFM Electric Chock Carburetor - Hooker Block Hugger Headers - GM HEI Ignition - Original radiator re-core to 3-core to fit in its original location - Flex-a-Lite 150 Electric fan - Painless 18-Circuit Wiring Harness - Power locks w/ actuators - Howe clutch master cylinder - Howe hydraulic throwout bearing - Centerforce Clutch Assembly - Flowmaster Mufflers, side exit - 95-Amp alternator - Electric fuel pump I have thousands of pictures documenting all aspects of the restoration and/or replacement. I also have a shed full of parts included with the sale. Thousands of dollars and hours have been invested in this project. I have tons upon tons of pictures documenting the repairs and upgrades. My loss is your gain. This item is being offered at No Reserve !!!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding !!!
